Midnight Train

A train, at midnight, passes by.

It's so so so very loud,

But from a distance...

You can't hear it.

I understand why you can't hear the train,

But I'm right here; right in front of you.

How can you not hear these cracks in my voice?

How can you not see the tears settling on my cheekbones?

How can you not tell that I'm in pain?

Shouldn't it be obvious when a person is broken?

Oh, yeah.

That's right.

You don't care.
