Chapter 16: Luna's Delivery

It's been a month since we've forgiven Totoko and she was very grateful we did. I actually tried to set her up on a few dates. She was very thankful but told it wasn't necessary. Karamatsu also just so happens to still be staying with me. I was aware that he was probably good to go home. However he never really wanted to leave.

I was in the living room watching Karamatsu petting Luna as she lays on her bed with Zuko sitting beside her. I noticed Karamatsu furrow his eyebrows at Luna as let she let a small, drawn out, whine. "Hey y/n?" He says and I hum "yeah I heard it" He glances up "is she alright?" He asks softly petting the small dog's side.

I paused for a second thinking when it suddenly hit me. "I think..She trying to tell us that the pups are on their way." I say shooting up to call my friend, who happened to be a vet, and told her to hurry over. My friend seemed very excited but told us to help Luna the best we could.

"Okay She is on her way." I say sitting down beside Karamatsu and he nods. Karamatsu continues to pet Luna's head while I pet her stomach. She let out a louder whimper and I saw Zuko walk over to nuzzle her nose. "Aw that's cute." I say before Luna gave out a yelp "oh that's not." I say as I noticed the delivery was starting.

I handed Karamatsu my phone and told him to call f/n to tell her the pups were on their way. He nodded and got up to do just that.
Meanwhile I helped the first pup to the best of my ability. I giggled at Karamatsu pacing around as he talked to f/n. Soon he hung up and said "She says Luna should be able to birth the puppies without help but that we should help if she seems to struggle or if the puppies aren't breathing normally."

"Okay, but can you go get some wet cloths and towels please." I asked and nods running off rather quick making me laugh. I smiled as the first pup arrived with success. When Karamatsu came back I took a wet cloth and gently cleaned the newborn. After drying her, yeah the first pup was a girl, I placed her down with her mother.

Together Kara and I helped deliver two more pups, a boy and a girl, when I heard the door open and my friend rushed in. "Sorry your door was unlocked so I just let myself in!" She exclaimed rushing over. She took over from there but we stayed close to help her clean the little pups.

Finally after two long hours Luna had birthed six healthy puppies, three girls and three boys, I smiled as both Zuko and Luna nuzzled one another. "Thanks again f/n." I say and she nods "remember to bring them in for a check up say 3 weeks from now." She says and I nod. She waves bye to the dogs and says "good job Luna." Before leaving.

I was crouched down in front of Luna, intently watching the puppies as they were being fed. I hear Karamatsu chuckle and I turn to look at him. "What? What you laughing for?" I ask and he smiled "I know you're worried about them but Luna knows what she's doing." Karamatsu says and I look back at Luna.

"I know but what if the puppies have trouble eating? What if she accidentally rolls on top of them as they sleep? What if the puppies suddenly have breathing troub"

"Okay missy. Calm down and come here." Karamatsu interrupted patting the couch cushion beside him. I glance his way but turn back to the pups "I'm fine. Thank you." I say. I then heard Karamatsu get up and walk over. I was then picked up in my boyfriend's arms and he smirked. "I wasn't asking." He says before walking me over to the couch and laying me on the couch and before I could even try to get up he lays on top of me.

"Kara! Get off me!" I yell while laughing "mm~ nope. You are not leaving this couch till you promise to leave the pups be." He says with a grin. "You're gonna crush me." I say and he rolls his eyes "I seriously doubt that love. Now promise me you'll let Luna watch the puppies. She is their mother, not you. She's knows what to do."

I sighed with a smile and nod "okay. I'll leave her alone...for now." I say and Karamatsu smirks "good enough for me. Besides I know someone who you can give your attention to." He says with a playful undertone in his voice "oh? Who might that be?" I asked just as playfully.

He answered my question with a kiss to my forehead before kissing my lips. I giggled and kissed him back. He was so cute like this I thought as he lifts his weight to hover over me. He pulled back to place soft gentle kisses on my neck which made me bite my lip.

"You can take me to our bedroom if you wish to do that tonight." I say. He smirks and picks me up, kissing me as we made our way to the bedroom.
