Shattered Mirrors (Depressed Karamatsu x reader)

Chapter 9: A day out

As the sun shone through my window and lit my room I opened my eyes. I was met with a calm, sleeping Karamatsu and couldn't help but smile. But I had to be productive so I lightly nudged my nose against his and spoke in a soft voice asking him to wake up. He stirred a bit before fully waking up.

"Hey. Did you sleep okay?" I ask softly, he smiled and said "well it was better than usual. So yeah." I nod and go to sit up but he didn't want to get up, or let me go for that matter, I roll my eyes "we have to get up silly." I say and he pouted "why? It's comfy here and I don't want to get up." He whined, making me laugh, so I kissed his forehead.

"We have to get up. I had plans to go out today and I'm taking you with me mister." I say pulling him to sit up with me. "Fine." He says as I pull him out of bed. He went to his room and I got dressed for today. I just put on blue jeans and my (favorite band) shirt. I got my dogs and let them outside for a minute before preparing a quick breakfast.

As soon as breakfast was done Karamatsu came out. "There you are. I hope you're ready to go out today." I say and took in the fact that he was wearing one of his many hoodies with simple blue jeans. "Why are we going out?" He asked sitting down and I smile handing him some breakfast. "I figured we could go on a date. That and I need to take my dogs on a walk." I saw Karamatsu blush lightly.

"A date? You sure you want to be seen with me?...in public." He says quietly. I sigh and kiss his cheek. "Yes. Now eat, and we'll head out after breakfast." I say before grabbing my breakfast and sitting beside him.

-A few minutes later-

"Okay, I have my purse, phone, my keys, and you have Luna. I have Zuko so we are good to go." I say before closing and locking the door. We started our walk to the park and I felt Karamatsu brush his hand against mine. I looked at him but he was just looking at the ground.

I smile and take his hand in mine, interlocking my fingers with his, and saw him look over. "You don't have to be so shy. If you want something, just ask. Okay?" He nods and lightly squeezed my hand. As we walk down the sidewalk I saw Sutabaa, I glance at Karamatsu, debating on if I should go in or not.

Karamatsu, of course, noticed I stopped and followed my sight to the café. "W-We can go in if you want." I look at him and bit my lip. "You sure? I just wanted to get a muffin, I can just wait." I ask but he shook his head. "Well, okay. Maybe he isn't working today." I say before we walk in.

Unfortunately, Todomatsu was working today, much to my dismay. He gave his usual greeting before realizing it was us. "Oh..um hello. What can I get you?" He asked "Just a chocolate chip muffin to go, please." I say and ran my thumb over Karamatsu's slightly trembling hand. Todomatsu hummed "That'll be 1.50" I wordlessly gave him the exact amount and he gave me my order.

"Have a good day..sir." I say I turn around to leave but before I could "..I'm sorry..I really mean it...If you don't mind, could I come over later?" He asked and turn back around "sure, it's 12:30 right now, but our date will be done by 2 at least. So any time after is okay." I say before leaving with Karamatsu.

I was grateful and happy that Todomatsu didn't point out our hand holding or that I said date. Though, I know he'll bring it up later. We continued our walk to the park and I wasn't surprised to see Jyushimatsu there as well. He was mostly just rolling around and running. That is before he saw us then he immediately ran over to us and hugged us.

"I'm so happy to see you guys! Especially you Karamatsu-niisan!" He exclaimed before letting us go, that was when he noticed our hands. "Huh! Are you to on a date? Are you dating?" He asked and I laugh at his behavior but nod "Yes Jyushi, we are on a date." I say making Karamatsu blush and Jyushimatsu laugh happily.

"That's great! Because Karamatsu-niisan has liked you since we were only 10 years old!" I looked at Karamatsu surprised and he looked away. I just smile and kiss his cheek. "I'm glad you felt them same way." Jyushimatsu then asked if he could come over and I nod letting him know Todomatsu would be there and he nods before leaving us be.

I looked at Karamatsu and he was a blushing mess, not looking at me. I glance at my dogs to see them communicating to each before both nodded. I was confused until they both went in different ways around us, making me Karamatsu push together. Now both of us were pushed against each other, stuck in my dogs leashes. Those clever dogs i thought to myself.

Karamatsu smiled a bit before laughing "I guess your dogs wanted me to look at you." He says and I laugh "more like they wanted to make you feel better." I say leaning my forehead against his. "Well..they succeed." He said nuzzling my nose. "We..were interrupted last time...want to try again?" I ask and he nods shyly. I hum out an okay before leaning in slowly, he leaned in as well and closed the gap between our lips.

Even if it was cliché, I felt my leg lift up as I kissed him back. I could feel him smile as he rested his hands on my waist while my own rested on his shoulders. We stayed like that for a few minutes before I hesitantly pulled away. We both gave an audible wow before we untangle ourselves and continued on our date.
