A/N: I've been thinking and I've finally thought of a chapter that will move the plot forward. I hope you enjoy.

Alex's POV

"It's been a long time mon ami." Lafayette said with a tender smile, ruffling my hair.

"Yeah, it's been awhile since I've seen you." I responded with a faint smile.

I was really happy to see them, but I couldn't stop thinking about who was in front of my house.

And why he was there.

"Hey Alex, are you okay?" Herc asked gently.

I was about to speak up and say something when Thomas grunted. Tightly folding his arms over his chest.

I looked over at him. Why was he acting like this?

"Thomas?" I asked gently.

"I don't see what that guys problem is" Thomas stated, throwing himself down on the couch. "What business does he have in front of your apartment building?"

I've never seen him act like this. He's always been charming, and kind. Thomas cares about people. He cares more about others than himself. That's what scares me the most.

"Thomas, are you talking about John?" Lafayette asked, "tell me what happened."

Thomas composed himself before continuing.

"John was at Alex's apartment." Thomas said.

Lafayette looked at me and then at Herc.

"Alex...can you stay here for today?" Lafayette asked.

"What why?" I questioned, "Look, if this is about John I wouldn't want to trouble any of you anymore than I already have."

"No it's okay," Thomas began, cutting into the conversation, "I'm sleeping on the couch."

"Thomas I can't." I argued. He put a hand on my shoulder, making me tense up for a second.

"Alexander, please."

His eyes were warm, he pleaded but he didn't beg. His tone was gentle and loving. He was himself again. At least for a moment.

"Alright, you win." I responded, rolling my eyes before smirking at Thomas.

"Thank you Alexander," Lafayette stuttered. He held Herc's hand tightly.

"Sure." I said, still unsatisfied with all the unanswered questions I has buzzing through my brain.

I tried to forget about them as Thomas and me went to the guest room.
