Alex's POV

The words George said to me have been stuck in my head ever since he said them.

What did he mean?

I've known John since college. I know him better than George does! Who says I don't make good decisions?

Sure I'm not patient, and I don't wait for things but that doesn't mean I don't choose the right people to be with. I love John.

Isn't that all that should matter?

My phone vibrated in the pocket of my jacket. I checked and saw text from an unknown number. Then looked and saw a missed call from Lafayette.

I called him back, pressing my phone against my ear.

"Hello?" I asked, Lafayette picking up almost as soon as I called.

"Hey, Alex." Lafayette said, seemingly fine. "I'm hosting this party and I thought I could invite you...and John."

"Okay, thanks I'm gonna be there."

"No problem." Lafayette's voice sounded strained. However before I could question it he hung up. How odd...

I went back to thinking about what George had said. That's when I realized something.

Thomas.

My mind snapped back into place when I finally realized that he hadn't been calling me, texting me or emailing me at all. Was he mad at me? I guess I do deserve it for cutting him off but surely he would have come to see me if he really wanted to tell me something.

Suddenly, a thought came to me...

I rapidly scrolled back to that random message on my phone. I had thought it was John but I saved his number. This number, was Thomas' number.

I had him saved as a contact but now...

Scrolling though my contacts I realized Thomas' had been deleted from my phone. It was...

As if someone was trying to keep us apart.

Thomas' POV

I hardly noticed that Alex had started pulling away. One thing I did notice broke my heart.

I got a text from Alex...

He said he never wanted to see me again. At first I thought he was joking.

But then he sent a photo. Of him and John, together.

I felt my heart shatter when he started telling me that he hated me.

When he told me that he'd taken John to our special place.

I didn't want to believe it. Until I went out and I saw them together. Alex was with John at a cafe. They looked so happy together.
