Amrit's POV

I opened my eyes and saw a man maybe in his late 30s, most probably a king.

I turned towards Kanha who had a faint smile. Karn looked a bit confused.

The man walked almost to the centre.

"Welcome Parit-Naresh (King Of Parit), I didn't expect to see you here." Kanha taunted him.

"That's because you never invited me, Vasudev." He said in anger.

"Then why are you here?" I heard one of the guests say and others started laughing.

"I am here to do what a king should do if he is insulted by not being invited in a svayamvar." He said with his eyes red in anger. "I am here to kidnap this so called princess, Amrit" He said pointing to me.

Wait, what?
No no no.
That's not at all right.
Kanha, what is happening.

" No you are not" I heard Karn say that.

"Not inviting someone and insulting them are different..." Kanha tried to explain.

"I don't want any excuses." The man interrupted.

He started walking towards me. His eyes almost red with anger.

I stood firm, looking at Kanha, Karn, Panchali and everyone else. Most of them were confused about what to do.

You won't dare to do that.

"No, you won't. We are all here to have her as our bride. And you just can't take her with you that simply." One of the kings/princes said. Others started agreeing with him.

"Who are you gonna fight with me for? This girl? The one who no one knows where she came from? The one about who we didn't even know her caste? The one about whom we can't even say if she has a character or is characterless." He said quieting the crowd. There was a complete silence.

A few tears rolled down from my eyes not of shame but of anger, not of guilt but of teaching him a lesson.

He stepped one more step closer but an arrow blocked it's way.

It was from Karna. He came in front of him.

" Parit Naresh, you have crossed your limits by insulting a woman. I was silent till this time as I never wanted to spoil this occasion but you and your language have compelled me to do so. You won't be able to kidnap Amrit, till she has this brother with her." Karn shouted in anger.

This enraged that man. Dau joined Karn too. Even the guests were ready to kill him now. They all started running towards him surrounding him and Karn and Dau.

I looked confused at Kanha. He had a serious face. Suddenly my eyes fell on the commoners who were afraid and terrified. Many small kids were among them. Suddenly I remembered Panchali's svayamvar and how Sudama died because of the chaos.

I can't let thay happen again.
I need to do something.

I looked at Kanha and then did a silent short prayer.

"Stop" I shouted at the top of my voice.

Everyone's attention was on me now.

Hey Vayudev help this daughter of yours.

I used my powers to create a huge wave of wind sending the kings back to their respective thrones.

I walked closer to that man as I continued creating powerful wind not with my hands but with my eyes.

The winds made my fell on the floor hurting his back.

My anger calmed down a bit.

"You have now broken one of the biggest Dharmas of a Kshatriya." I said as I walked around him. "To respect a woman and her dignity is the dharm of a Kshatriya and you have not only insulted me by your words but also tried to take my dignity off by trying to kidnap me."

"And you all are no less." I said turning to the guest kings and princes. "I thought that you all would try to save me to follow your Kshatriya Dharm but no ,you all only tried to save me because you all wanted me to be your bride and him kidnapping me would mean an insult to your pride."

I tool a long breath and looked at Kanha. He was smiling proudly at me. Same for Karn.

"This svayamvar is over now. You all should leave." I said joining my hands.

"And to you, I am letting you go. I hope you would never try to insult a woman again" I said turning to him.

Suddenly I heard someone clap. I turned and saw that it was Panchali. She was followed by other females present there.

By then, the guests started leaving quietly. That man had already gone. Only commoners were left.

"You did a brave deed, Amrit. You did what every female should do. I am proud of you." Karn said with a proud smile.

"Amrit, you made me proud of my decision of making you my best friend" Panchali remarked.

"And for your courage, I name you Dhriti." Kanha said as he patted my shoulder. "I am proud of you" He whispered.

And as soon as he said Dhriti, the commoners started cheering my name.

That was unexpected.
I wish Maa was here, she would have been so much proud.

I felt so happy as they continued cheering and I hugged Kanha.

I needed that.
I hug from Kanha.
It healed everything.

"Thanks, Kanha" I whispered.
