I was in my room lost in my thoughts.

I suddenly heard someone knocking the door.

"Come in" I said while still sitting on the bed.

It was Subu.

"So what are you doing?" She asked as she enter.

What am I doing?

"Just thinking. You tell me, how did you remember me all of a sudden?" I asked.

"I was just getting bored so I decided to check on you" She replied as she sat beside you.

"Yeah. I am a little kid. Everyone needs to check on me." I joked.

"I can't disagree with that. You can't even walk without bumping into someone." She giggled teasing me.

"That's not true." I pouted.

I mean it is true...
Kind of...
In my defense, I hardly bumped into anyone in my era.
Except one...

My lips formed a smile.

"Is my dear Ammu thinking about someone?" Subu teased me even more.

"It is nothing like that!" I said.

I blushed slightly as I remembered that day.

"It is nothing like that!" I tried to not talk about that.

"That reminds me when are you going to get married?" Subu suddenly asked me that.

"Why are you asking that all of sudden?" I replied looking shocked.

"I mean it is your age to get married, isn't it?"  She said.

"I don't want to get married. At least for now." I told her.

"I am sure there must have been moments where you wanted to get married to someone special!" She continued to talk about that.

This girl...
But yes, there have been moments.

We can't forget that disastrous svamyamvar of mine where I was waiting for 'never seen before' lover to come and take me with him.

Or Laksh. How can I forget that guy?

Flashback to when Amrit was 18 and was in her time period.

Amrit was walking to her class when she bumped into him.

"Ryan, learn to walk!" She shouted as she almost fell on the ground.

"I am sorry. I was in a hurry" He helped her stood up.

"Yeah, you are always in a hurry" She said looking irritated.

"I said sorry! What else do you want me to do?" Ryan sighed.

"Nothing!" Ammu walked to her desk and sat there. Ryan sat beside her.

"Listen, Ammu" He said.

"Say" She sighed looking at him.

"Are you free tonight?" He asked softly.

"Are you asking me for a date, Mr. Ryan?" She said in an excited tone.

"I didn't say that---" Ryan blushed.

"Someone is blushing..." She teased him even more.

"Nevermind" He sighed.

"No stop. I am free tonight." She said while trying not to tease him. "So where are we going for our 'date'?"

"It's not a date. It is hanging out with a friend." He said while trying not to blush.

"I didn't know that people blush while asking their friend for hanging out" Ammu teased him even more.

"I hate you" He sighed.

"What? I think my ears are not working properly. I heard your 'I love you' as 'I hate you'." She laughed even more as he blushed more.

End Of Flashback

I sighed.

He was another guy who I thought I loved.

But things get messed up when one is serious and the other one isn't.
I still sometimes wish to go back to that moment and maybe fix my mistakes.
Nothing was his fault.
But I guess everything happens for a reason and he found someone who is perfect for him.

"Can we just change the topic?" I sighed.

"Why?" Subu asked "Remember what Rukmini Bhabhi told us?"

"What exactly are you talking about?" I asked her. "She had told me so many things."

"The one of closing our eyes and seeing whom we truly love" She said.

"Oh ya, I remember that" I said

And also that I saw Arjun.
But that was just a mistake.

"Why don't you try it?" She suggested.

"Now--w?" I stammered.

I don't feel like I am ready to accept anyone as my true love right now.

"Yes. Now do it" She continued to convince me.

"Fine" I gave up.

I closed my eyes and started doing it.

I saw him.

I--I don't understand.
Why did I see him?
He can't be my true love...

"Who did you see?" She asked.

"I-- I saw ---" Suddenly we were interrupted by Panchali.

"Enough of gossiping, girls. We need to make preparations." Panchali said.

"Preparations for what, jiji?" Subu asked.

"You both don't know yet, I guess" She said "Aarya Yudhisthir has decided to do a Rajasuya Yagya. "

That's interesting.

I sighed and looked at the mirror.

I closed my eyes and again did the trick.
