Another Nightfury {toothless X Reader}

Who Am I??

Morning came and everyone started to wake up, except for one dragon ofcourse 'me'. I was still peacefully sleeping, curled up with my tail protectively around myself.

I dreamt a strange dream. Unfortunately I did not know that it was actually a memory, something I never had before.

Memory:
The ocean was silent, and in the middle laid an island. The island was very quiet and it looked like noone lived there, but those who thought that were quite wrong.

On this island lived the night, light and seafuries.

(What's a sea fury?)
The sea fury is a one of a kind. There is only one, or there was only one of them. The seafury was an ancient dragon. The seafury was wise and very old, he had been there since the beginning of life.

He was like many other 'a guardian of life'. He protected dragon's and man kind from one another and themselves.

Back to the memory:

As the sun rose to the sky the dragon's started to wake up. It was a very peaceful day, or so they thought. Nightfuries and lightfuries walked out of their caves and dens with their young.

I waddled alongside my mother, going out of our den. My father was behind us, being protective like he always is. I looked back at him and smiled happily, he was my hero and I was proud to have him as dad.

Once we were outside, everyone went quiet as we watched a Nightfury fall out of the sky, a ballista arrow right through it's chest.

At that point men came out from everywhere. They shot their arrows at all dragon's and were slaughtering them like animals. I was quickly hid in  the cave by my mother.

I looked up at her scared, she looked back at me and nuzzled me "it's going to be alright sweetie... Mama will protect you" she softly said and licked my cheek before running out to fight the enemy.

(20min later)

After I stopped hearing anyone fighting I assumed that we won. I waited there for my mother to get me. I was a bit happy, not knowing that we lost. Every dragon was slaughtered, layers upok layers off men and dragon laid outside, out of my sight.

After a good 5 minutes I got a bit less excited, thinking something was wrong. I slowly got up from my hiding spot and slowly crawled towards the entrance.

The bright light of the sun blurred my vision. I held my wings in front of my eyes to not be blinded and stepped outside.

I looked around once I was able to see and my eyes widened in shock. I looked upon all the dead dragons and men. I could see both my parents laying there.

I quickly ran to my parents and nudged my mom "mom.... Mom wake up please" I said and began crying once I realized she was dead. I nuzzled my head into her side, in a certain way saying goodbye to her.

I then heard a rustling and saw the seafury appearing from the bushes. He was weak, injured and nearing death.

I slowly crawled away from my mom and stepped in front of the seafury who looked down at me. He slowly lowered his head to look at me better.

We looked into each other's eyes for a minute before he started smiling.

"what a brave young one you are" he says and slowly lays down.

"what happened...." I ask him, not sure wat to do and wanting answers.

"they all went to a better place young one" he said with a soft voice. "now young one, I have a very important task for you.... I need you to stay alive and find a life for yourself" he said and gently nuzzled me.

I look at him and nod "I will mister seafury" I said and looked down.

He then gently raised my head with his paw and softly smiled "here young one, I shall grant you these powers.... You will not understand them now but you will one day" he says and a flow of powers leaves his body and enters mine.

He looks at me "go young one..... Go" he whispers and slowly lays his head down and closes his eyes for good.

I look at him sadly and softly whine. I look around one last time and then fly up and away from the island.

I looked back at the island as I flew away and softly cried. I kept on flying until I reached an island, inhabited by dragons.

I landed somewhere in a clearing and looked around.

A large female nadder walked into the clearing and looked down at me. "are you alright young one" she asks a little worried.

I gently shake my head and look down. She walks over to me and lays down, curling around me "I'll protect you young one" she says with a soft voice and keeps me safe.

The nadder raised me to adulthood from that point and was my mother from then.

End memory

My eyes suddenly snap open from the memory. Tears go down my cheeks as I cry, remembering how my parents died and what they looked like.

I slowly got up and walked out of fishlegs his house and looked around. I walked over to the cliff and looked over the sea before roaring loudly into the open sea.

I wiped my tears away and then turned around to see the gang behind me, looking at me confused except for hiccup and fishlegs and Astrid who understood that something sad came over me.

I then see toothless pushing past the gang and look at me. His happy smile turns to a worried look as he sees me so sad.

I look at the sea and then my eyes widen in realization. I now knew why I was given these powers. The seafury gave me These powers so I could continue the Nightfury species with a male or female.

I turn to look at toothless and slowly walk towards him. I stop in front of him and nuzzle him. He happily nuzzles back.

The gang carefully watches us and hiccup smiles proudly.
