Another Nightfury {toothless X Reader}

He, My Greatest Fear

I woke up to my face being licked over and over my a wet tongue. Once I opened my eyes I could see toothless's goofy smile

"hey, you're finally awake" he says happily and nuzzles me, rubbing his head against mine.

I chuckle "yea yea" I smile and get up. I smirk and jump on toothless, pinning him down and attacking him with licks "mwahahahaha, midnight strikes back" I tease.

Toothless chuckles and smiles "okay okay, I surrender" he says. I slowly get off and nudge him "c'mon, let's see what the others are doing" I say and walk downstairs towards the door while toothless follows.

I push the door open and smile as I feel the sun on my skin. I look up at the clubhouse, seeing the others there. I wait for toothless and we walk up there together.

I entered the clubhouse, looking around at the others as they smiled at us "morning sleepy heads" hiccup said while they were eating bread for breakfast.

Toothless mimicked hiccup, mocking him. The others see it and laugh "perfect timing toothless" Astrid teased hiccup who actually just chuckled a little, being in a very good mood.

They continued eating while fishlegs brought me and toothless a basked filled with fish. We happily gobbled them up before walking over to hiccup. Toothless nudged his leg to hear what hiccup would be up to.

"oh... Hey bud" he smiled. "guys, today I'll be showing you my new invention" he said to the others excited whil toothless groaned annoyed, knowing it was a bad idea.

~about an hour later~
(location: middle of dragon edge)

I stood next to toothless, watching hiccup who just revealed his flightsuit. It looked ridiculous but if it were effective then it would be of great use.

While we watched him prepare and toothless was distracted I heard a noise behind me. I take a few steps back and turn around to follow the noise to its source. I walk into a clearing and look around.

I couldn't see anything but I could smell something all too familiar.

From that moment everything went black, the last thing I felt was a sting in my side.

~6 hours later~
(Location: unknown)
I woke up, feeling a bit sick while my side still hurt. I slowly opened my eyes and weakly looked up to see a man staring down at me "you didn't think I wouldn't find you Did ya" the man smirked

"I'm the alpha, you obey me" he said and smashed his metal staff into the cage I was in. I backed up scared against the wall and covered my head with my wing.

He then laughed and slowly walked away, leaving a few fish in the cave and a bowl of water so I wouldn't starve. I drank some water and gobbled up a fish or two and then laid back to rest as the wound from the arrow on my side was starting to get infected. I close my eyes and slowly daze off to sleep.

~1 hour later~
(Location: still unknown)
I slowly opened my eyes, waking up to the sound of a soft and sweet voice talking to me.

"hey there..... I won't hurt you, don't worry" a girl said. I didn't really trust her but she didn't look very dangerous or violent.

I slowly got up and take a step towards her, sniffing her scent a little while she reaches our with her hand.

I sniffed her hand a little "my name is Laura, and I'm here to help you... There's no need to be scared" she said with a very soothing and calming voice.

I gently nuzzled her hand. She then opened the cage, confident that I wouldn't escape. She kneeled down beside me and looked at my wound "this might sting a little" she says, taking a wet cloth out of a bucket of water and the presses it on the wound, cleaning it.

I growled in pain and squeezed my eyes shut. I then opened then, feeling something nudge my head. I look up to see a dragon I had never seen before but only heard off, it was a silver phantom.

I sniffed it a little and lightly smiled, happy to see a dragon. I turned to Lauro who was bandaging my wound. Once she was done she went a little closer to me "once your wound is healed ill get you out of here" she whispered "get some rest and eat some for now" she says before leaving the cage and locked it again, walking away with her dragon.

I did as she said, not complaining anything as she was my best chance on surviving now. I laid down and curled up, closing my eyes to rest.

Immediately as I dazed off I dreamt about toothless, he was all that I wanted on my mind right now. I dreamt about his sweet smile and his caring personality and about how protective he was. I thought of the feeling that he was curled around me with a wing over me, keeping me safe.

{Dream}

I was walking through a grass field with toothless, and behind us trailed 2 small and adorable little baby Nightfuries. I looked back at them and stopped, picking them up and placing them on my back.

They played around in my back, wrestling with each other while me and toothless continued walking, occasionally nuzzling each other.

Once I stopped the babies looked up to see me and toothless looking at them with very proud, caring and happy eyes while they stared back into ours with the cutest and most innocent eyes ever.

Something that never happened to any dragon before happened then, a tear dropped from my eye, a tear of happiness.

{out of the dream}

I was still asleep in the cage but a real tear slid down my cheek in my sleep. And then it happened..... The miracle of the century. "t-toothless" I whispered in human tongue. I was the first dragon to actually say a word in human tongue.
