It was a typical morning for me. I woke up put on some makeup my clothes got my bag and my coat and headed to my office.
"Good morning " My coworker greeted me.
"Hey." I waved back taking a seat to my office.
"Did you hear the news?" Yeosung asked me.
"What news?" I asked him confused.
"The office in Seoul is finally open." He said happy.
"That's great." I said continuing typing.
To be honest I was scared. I don't like changes and big cities. Usually when a new office is opening there are employees who are transferring. I didn't want to transfer. I love my life here in Daegu.
"Emily to my office." The boss called me.
I was praying he wouldn't say that I'm transferring. I took a deep breath and opened the door.
"You asked for me?" I asked him feeling nervous.
"Yeah please take a seat. " He said and I sat down.
"As you must have known by now the new office opened in Seoul. I'm here to announce you that you've been chosen to transfer there. I know you're working really hard that's why you'll be the team manager. " He said and you covered your mouth from joy
Not only I managed to get a transfer but also got a promotion? I couldn't believe it. But then it came to my mind that I didn't want to leave my family and also my boyfriend.
" I can't accept this." I said.
"Why not it's a big opportunity.A lot of employees would kill for a chance like this. I'll give you a week to think about it. Please consider it. You are an exceptional employee and the team would improve." He said.
"Thank you so much." I said and left his office.
I sat down on my desk.
"So?" Yeosung asked me.
"Umm he wants me to transfer to Seoul as a team manager." I said looking down.
"Omg Emily that's great news but why are you sad?" He asked you.
"I don't know Yeosung. I don't want to leave. Big cities scare me and plus I don't have a place to leave. What about my parents? They need me." I said trying to persuade myself that saying was the best choice.
"No don't think like that. You have to think about yourself. Your parents will be really proud that you get a promotion. I feel like that's your biggest chance in life and you're actually declining it?" He asked me.
"Yeah but mum and dad needs me. Especially now that my brother is gone." I said.
"Stop thinking about them and start thinking about what's best for you. If I remember your brother lives in Seoul right?. You can stay there till you find a place." He suggested.
"You're right. But he's living with his members. I still have a week to think about it." I said his words sinking in.
"But what about Changmin?" I asked Yeosung.
"If he really loves you he'll understand that this is a big opportunity for you." He said.
"Ugh." I sighed.
I finished work at the typical time. My phone rang. It was Changmin my boyfriend.
"Hey" I answered it.
"Hey want to grab a bite?" He asked you.
"Yeah at the noodles place?" I asked him.
"Let's meet up there." He said and you smiled at your phone.
I walked there. He wasn't there. I took a seat at a table and waited for him to show up. After an hour he came.
"Sorry I was late something happened." He said and I couldn't believe him but I just shrugged it off.
We ordered noodles. I was really hungry since I couldn't eat due to the news.
"So how was work?" He asked me and I almost chocked.
" It was okay as always. How about you how was your day?" I asked him wanting to change the subject.
We ended our dinner I said goodbye to him and walked home. Once I entered the house I went immediately upstairs to my room. I checked my contact list and saw the name of my brother. I was contemplating whether to call him or not. Would he had time to answer?
I called him either way.
"Hello?" He said.
"Omg I didn't think you'd pick up. Hi." I said happy to hear my brother's voice after such a long time.
"What are you doing? How's work?" He asked me.
"I'm great. I missed you. I wanted to talk you about work. Well I've got an offer to transfer to Seoul to a new office that opened as a team manager." I said anxious of how he would react.
"That's a great offer. Have you decided yet?" He asked me.
"Well I'm thinking about it but I don't maybe it's better to stay here." I said waiting for his response.
"And reject an offer like this one? Are you insane?" He asked me.
" You know mum and dad need help." I said.
"They'll understand." He said.
"Yeah still I don't have somewhere to live in Seoul." I said.
"You can live here with me till you find a place. If you don't have a problem with the members. They're good guys you'll have fun here." He suggested.
" I don't know I'll think about it and I'll let you know." I said.
"Emily seriously it's a great opportunity. Opportunities like this come once in a lifetime . You'll regret it." He said and I nodded. He was right.
"I've seen you've been doing well too. You guys are everywhere." I said complimenting him.
"I know right? It's really hard though I don't even get some time off to visit you guys." He said feeling sad.
" Its okay I'm happy that you're happy doing what you love." I said smiling at him.
"Hyung who are you talking to?" Jimin said out of nowhere.
"My sister." He replied.
"Can I say hi?" Jimin asked him.
"No." Suga said.
"Why?"He asked him hurt.
"Because I said so." He said and I laughed.
"I'm going to wave anyways. Hi Emily." Jimin waved at me.
"Hey Jimin." I waved at him while watching yoongi looking at him angrily.
"I guess that's my queue to leave. It was nice seeing you Emily." He said.
"Nice to see you too bye." I waved back at him.
I talked with Yoongi for a little more till I was too sleepy to talk so I hung up and went to sleep.
