Chapter Three: Questioning

"You've been quiet." Patrica observed as her and Holly entered their hotel room.

"Just tryin' out that nature I suppose." Holly's eyes widened in annoyance, but it flew right over Patrica's head.

"Didn't know Malcolm went there. Jessica never mentioned it whenever I'd talked to her." Patrica soon realized that Malcolm wasn't the best conversation topic.

"He's always gone there. And before you try playing matchmaker, they ain't havin' no secret affair."

"I'm not. Jessica's been pretty quiet about her love life unless she thinks something serious is going on."

"Yeah."

"I've had a long day. I'm gonna go to sleep now. Wake me up if you need anything."

"Right back at ya Patrica. You need support more than I do right now."

"Y'know..Jessica might not be the only person with a love life struggle right now."

Before Holly could get a chance to respond, Patrica set herself in a state to prepare for her deep slumber.

"This is fucking bullshit. This is déjà vu." Holly grumbled as her eyes fell onto the phone once again. Her thoughts of trying Angus's old number faded after multiple seconds. Her and Patrica were alike in that way, always building their emotional well being on the past.

Holly shook her head and then let it fall onto the pillow.

Holly, of course, slept restless. Every once in awhile waking up, thinking someone was laying next to her when they weren't, excusing it as just a dream attempting to sneak into her reality, Holly had just gotten up and left to the bathroom to get ready for the day.
