Chapter Thirteen: A Touch Of Perfection

Thomas had left in a rage. Part of Holly was still scared from the encounter. She'd never seen him that angry before, who knows what he could've done.

Thomas had always been unpredictable, Valerie would call it a "man period".

Angus was still holding her close to him. Partly for comfort, partly because he didn't want her to leave him again.

"Are you busy tonight?" Angus asked.

Holly looked towards him. "Nah I shouldn't be. Why?"

"Jus wonderin'. You wanna get dinner or somethin like that?"

"Wouldn't hurt. I could use a night out. I feel like I've been on a roller coaster ride ever since my plane landed."

"Yeah really."

"It'd be nice to get away from it. Without the need of any alcoholic drinks."

Holly found herself paranoid. She knew Thomas had left hours ago, but in the back of her mind there was that fear that he would show up and ruin everything..that would piss of both Holly and Angus. She figured she was just being silly, so she did her best to remove it from her thoughts.

"Oh is it the lovebirds back again?" Of course Angus knew that taking Holly to the diner her friend owned would get them at least a little bit of teasing from Jessica.

"You betcha." Holly winked and Angus laughed nervously.

Jessica went away after their orders were taken.

"Hey Ang? You okay? You look really nervous. Don't pass out on me here."

"Oh me? Yeah I'm fine." Angus's voice got quieter the more words he said in his sentence.

"Are you sure? You keep checking your pocket for something and you'll hardly ever look me in the eye."

Angus shrugged.

"Okay you can open your eyes now!" Holly did, and to say this place brought back memories would be an understatement.

"We almost got mauled by a dog here remember?" Holly was still suspicious of Ang's nervous laughter.

"Yeah we did. We had to hide out in that cabin until he fell asleep. Makes me wonder if that dog is still around."

"If he is I guess we're spending tonight in that cabin again." Angus fiddled with the lock and pushed the gate aside as soon as he opens the lock.

"I've been hoping to see this place again you know." Holly observed it, but quickly alternated her glance back to Angus.

They'd climbed up on top of a hill. Holly had planned to go on the next trail, but Angus had stopped her.

"There's a reason I brought you here Holl."

Holly looked at him curiously as he reached into his pocket and lowered himself down on one knee.

"Holly Wilson..."

"Oh my god...."

"Will you marry me?"
