When the sun rose the next morning, Katsuki had been up for hours, he watched it all with partly opened eyes, breaths coming in slow and calm.

Neither of the things that described him.

Kaede had woken late last night, he hadn't gotten the reason why, not that it mattered, all that mattered now was that she was asleep, passed out behind him, thankfully another stuffed animal tucked under her arm.

He tried not to make a habit of getting up from bed when he woke up early, but here he sat on the floor leaning against his bed, watching the sun peak up behind the buildings. The only good part about this apartment would probably be the view in this room.

He had given Kaede the bigger room when they moved in, thinking she'd need it more than him. He only used his room to sleep, and a heavy maybe on that.

Kaede would have to be up soon, to be able to shower and eat.

His eyes suddenly heavy, head lolling on his shoulder. A few more minutes couldn't hurt?

By the time his lunch break rolled around he was both dead on his feet, and itching to run as far away as he could from this damned library.

Well he was mindlessly scrolling through his callender, his phone vibrated in his hand, glancing at the notification banner he inwardly growls, pressing it harshly.

Hag: ungrateful son of mine when are you going to swing around, your father misses you dearly. -love your mother.

He swears she texts like this just to fucking bother him.

Before he can reply another text comes in.

Hag: how's school? You drop out yet?

He mutes her, finger hanging dangerously close to block. He really should've "accidentally" lost her number.

Exiting out of her messages he texts his dad quickly, then goes back to his main screen of texts. The unknown number still number 3 in his recent.

Pressing on the name, going to block, he half reads over the last few messages the stranger sent.

Unknown number: ah whered u go

Unknown number: nm just checked the time ouch

Unknown number: why havent u blocked me already?

Hitting his head on the table lightly, he brings up the keyboard.

Me: god you're fucking annoying

Unknown number: aw

Unknown number: ive figured it out u r lonely.

Feeling his face aflame he quickly types back.

Me: no im fucking not, you asshat.

Unknown number: even a cute nickname :')

Me: die

He got pulled from the lunchroom soon after, back to returning books. Katsuki felt like he was in a daze, the messages from his mom still creeping in the back of his mind, daring him to message her back and give her a piece of his mind.

He finishes late, the library long since closed. He can still hear faint music coming from his boss's office, her singing too loudly for him to not be able to hear it.

Signing out, he's met with cool air hitting his face, breathing in, lungs burning, he lets out a deep sigh. Unlocking the car, he gets in. he doesn't reach for the ignition, he just sits, and waits. What for? He doesn't know, maybe for Kaede to get in the car, maybe for the car to drive itself, maybe for things to go back to what they were before kaede, as bad as that sounds.
