Two weeks had passed and the only things I have done are go to work and then back home. I hadn't even been going to the coffee shop to get my morning vanilla latte in case I would run into Liam. This morning was different though, I was in need of a caffeine fix and I was running late for work. I pulled into the parking lot and rushed inside, happy when it wasn't busy at all. I joined the short line and scrolled through my twitter feed while I waited.
"Logan right?" I heard behind me. When I turned my head to look around, I notice the girl behind me in line looks vaguely familiar but I can't remember from where. "It's Sarahi, Niall's girlfriend."
"Oh my god, yes," I say, finally remembering. "I'm sorry, I've been out of it for the past few weeks," I tried to make an excuse for not remembering her.
"It's fine," she smiled. "We should hang out sometime though. You like shopping right?"
I nodded. "Yeah, I love shopping. I'm in need of some retail therapy."
"Awesome," she replied and we exchanged numbers. "Are you free tomorrow?"
"Um, yeah. I have the day off actually."
I placed my order and moved down to the counter to wait for my drink. My drink came quickly. I said a quick goodbye to Sarahi and walked to my car.
"Logan, will you come here? I need to speak with you," my boss called from the back when I arrived at the bar.
I wondered what he wanted since I didn't feel as if I'd done anything wrong. I stepped into his office, finding him sitting behind his desk. I took a seat in one of the chairs and asked, "what did you want to talk about?"
"As I mentioned before, I was thinking about hiring another bartender. I put up a flier while you were gone and I've interviewed a few people. I think I've made my decision but I want your opinion." He slid a resume across his desk to me. I picked it up and scanned while he continued to speak. "Her name is Ivy. She seemed very outgoing and I think she would be a great fit." I noticed that she had bar experience already which was good.
"Yeah," I nodded. "She seems like the perfect choice." I placed the papers back on his desk.
"Great, I'll let her know she got the job. Oh, and I was planning to tell you to be more interactive with the customers. The regulars have been complaining."
I kept myself from groaning as I walked back out to the bar. Once the bar opened, I put on a fake smile and flirted with the customers to make them happy.

I met Sarahi at the mall in town. I was expecting to have a chill day to get my mind off of things, but she got right into asking questions.
"So, how are you and Liam doing?"
I bit my lip before answering. "Well, we were just friends but I kind of screwed that up. He won't even speak to me now."
"Hmm, you guys would be so cute together," she said as she looked through a rack of tops.
"I'm not really the relationship type, but getting to know Liam kind of changed my views on things. I just wish I hadn't gone to my old ways and sort of betrayed him. Not that what I did was wrong because we weren't together, but I feel horrible about it."
"I think you should talk to him. Or try to at least." She pulled out a maroon colored tank with fringe at the bottom.
"That's super cute, you should get that," I told her, trying to change the subject.
"I don't know..." She put the shirt back on the rack.
"Seriously, it would look great on you," I said, pulling the shirt back out. "At least try it on?"
"Fine," she grabbed it from me. We walked toward the dressing room when she suddenly stopped in her tracks.
"What is it?"
"I just got the perfect idea! You should come over for dinner and I'll make sure that Liam is there. It'll be perfect. You guys can talk and-"
"I don't know. It kind of feels like a set up and the last time I saw him he didn't say a word to me."
Sarahi was texting furiously on her phone. "Nope. It's all set up. You have to come. Niall is expecting you."
"Did you really just conspire with niall?"
"He thought it was a great idea. He's been worried about Liam, saying that he's been falling back into his slump."
"Because of me? That's crazy. He can't just base his mood on if we're fighting or not."
"He loves you," she countered.
"Yeah, he kept telling me that. I just don't understand it though. We haven't known each other very long."
"Logan," she said, stepping out of the dressing room in the maroon top. "You don't choose who you love or how fast you fall. When you find that person that makes you feel butterflies in your stomach and cares for you and you want nothing more to spend every minute with them, you need to fight for them. Liam's eyes lit up when he talked about you. So, yeah, maybe you haven't known each other for long but that doesn't mean he doesn't love you."
I was stunned by her words and it made me think over my friendship with Liam. He always made me feel something that I had never felt before. When I slept with him, it seemed like more than just sex and his kisses were enough to drive me wild. I missed him and it had only been two weeks since I had last seen him.
"Th-that top looks great."
"Really?" she pondered, examining herself in the three way mirror.
"Yeah," I smiled. "I'll get it for you since you're being so nice to me."
"Oh, you don't have to do that. I'm just happy to have a new friend."
"My treat, seriously. You need that top." I really liked Sarahi and I was happy she was taking time out of her day to go shopping with me.
"Alright, if you insist," she said and handed me the hanger when she stepped back out.
We spent the rest of the day shopping and eating ice cream cones in the food court. Our arms were now filled with bags.
"So, come over around 7 for dinner?" Sarahi asked as we headed toward the exit. "And you better wear that skirt you bought."
"Yeah, sounds good." I had decided that I should just go to dinner and see how things turned out. The worst thing that could happen was Liam just giving me the silent treatment again.
The whole drive home I couldn't stop playing different scenarios of what would happen that night. I was getting more worried and nervous by the minute.
