Chapter 10: Attacks

Levi's POV

With me able to leave solitary confinement... I was king again. Everyone feared me... they never got in my way. Even a small scowl from me will make them cower in fear of me. I felt... empowered. But day by day, I would give anything to see Hanji and feel the baby again.

"Oi Levi..." I turned when I heard my name being called and saw a shank in his hand. His face was dangerous and killer-ish... but I saw he was a newbie at killing. Him, I can easily take him down. "Think you can get away with this? Being in charge?" 

"Tch..." I groaned, standing up from my seat and walked towards him. He had to be 5'8... and I peered up to him. "You think you can defeat me in a shank fight? Hah, try me, bitch." I smirked, liking this. In my defense, he threatened me... and if he struck first, I have every right to attack back.

He smirked as well, striking me with the shank. I simply dodged it, feeling it strike near my cheek. His smirk disappeared as I quickly grabbed his arm, elbowed it and kicked behind his knee. He groaned as he fell onto his knees and I grabbed him by his hair. 

"Drop the shank, boy." He does so and I kicked it away. I leaned down close to his ear, snickering a bit. "Don't even think about attacking me like... got it?" He nods and I let go of his hair. "Tch... idiots."

I grew used to these attacks- them wanting to take the throne I sat upon- and I fought for it with my life. But I know that they won't stop at nothing until I am either dead or dethroned.

During lunch, I had their shitty potatoes- which reminded me of school- and I took only one bite from it all. The taste of it felt differently and I ran myself towards the trash, spitting it out. It burned me from the inside out... and I knew I was poisoned. Someone was out to kill me here... and I was stuck. Hanji was gonna prove me innocent, and I will leave my throne here...

But then... I collapsed on the floor, blacking out. My eyes fluttered closed and I was trapped in my mind... what would... happen to me or my new family?

"Levi!" My eyes popped open as I saw her there... she looked down at me, worried. Tears brimmed her hazel eyes as I looked up towards her. "Y-You're okay!"

"W-What happened?" I groaned as I stood up, feeling the soft bed. I never had a soft bed like this... but harder. I leaned onto her, gripping on her arms. "Hanji... how did you..."

She chuckled, kissing me on my cheek. "Apparently... you were poisoned... and... I got so worried. I stayed with you for the past 5 hours." 5?! I've been out for that long? Damn... "You scared me half to death, Levi..."

I chuckled, caressing her cheek. "I'm not that easy to take out... and you know that. Aren't you supposed to be working by now? Staying here for 5 hours and watching me slumber is considered work now, is it?"

Hanji looked down with disappointment, "I... got on maternal leave. Either that or I couldn't prove you innocent. So, I took the route that would let me work..."

"Maternal leave? I may not know a lot of things, but you're not supposed to get maternal leaves until... around 7 months or so. You're at least 5 or 6 months away from getting one. What happened?"

"Erwin, my superior, found out. He found out about the father of my baby... and he wanted me gone. He wanted me to stay away from you... but the thing is... I think I know that he's in some kind of league with the attacker. He whispered under his breath about how someone went after me... and... I don't know what to do about it."
