Cheryl's POV

It was now Sunday morning and I groaned sleepily as I woke up. Toni and I were in her bed and I guess she moved me here since I feel asleep in the living room. I squinted as I looked around, adjusting to being awake as I heard the sound that awoken me in the first place.

That's my phone.

I ran out of the bed, probably accidentally waking Toni up and I hurried into the living room.

"Hello?" I asked as I answered the phone.

"Cheryl, Thank gosh." My mother sighed. "It's 2:30pm and I haven't heard from you all day. I was getting worried."

"It is?! Sorry I didn't know."

"I know and it's fine. I just want to come over and see you so I can check in."

"Oh yeah. Lemme check with Toni." I said as I turned around, Toni already being there. "Can she come over?"

"Yeah, of course, Cher." She smiled.

"Okay." I smiled back and switched back to my mom. "You can come over now if you like. I'll text you the address."

"Okay, thanks. See you in about half an hour."

"Okay, bye." I said and hung up.

"Is she on the way?" Toni asked.

"Yeah, she'll be here soon." I answered.

"Okay, so we'll hang out until she gets here. How about we make pancakes?" She suggested.

"It's 2:30pm, Toni."

"Shhh." She shushed as she put her finger to her lips. "No ones gonna know. So we'll have breakfast now and it'll be fine." She said cutely and dragged me to the kitchen.

"Coming!" Toni and I called as we cleaned up the kitchen after we just finished our meals. We put everything away and then hurried to the door.

"Hello, Mrs. Blossom." Toni greeted after she opened the door. "Oh, and hey, Jason." She added.

"Oh, hey." I smiled. "I didn't know Jason was coming."

"Yeah, I forgot to mention that." Mom said as they came in.

"I wanted to check in on you and needed to talk." Jason explained.

"Okay, that's fine." I smiled.

"Take a seat." Toni added.

We all walked into the living area and my Mom and Jason took a seat on the couch. I sat in the armchair and Toni sat on the arm rest, putting her hand on my back.

"He hit you that hard?" Mom asked as her eyes welled with tears after getting a good look at the side of my face. The bruise honestly looked worse from last night because it had gotten darker, but it didn't really hurt as long as there wasn't a lot of pressure on it.

"Y-Yeah. I'm okay though." I reassured. Mom simply nodded and it was quiet again. There was a lot of tension in the room.

I was uncomfortable because of course I was still shaken up from last night. I was a complete and utter mess as we left Thornhill and didn't get to say goodbye. I have no idea what happened after I was gone. The only thing I can assume is that everything calmed down since Mom was able to call. I know that Dad still isn't happy to the point where it's dangerous if I go home. He needs to cool down.

Toni was obviously a little anxious. To my mother and Jason she probably looked perfectly fine, but I know Toni better. She was quietly tapping her foot and rubbing her index finger with her thumb. She does that when she's nervous or uncomfortable. Sure that's rare, but it happens. I'm pretty sure she's worried about what Mom and Jason are going to say about the apartment. It's very small and obviously can't house 4 people. She was probably okay with my mom coming, but Jason was a different story. He hasn't been very trusting of her and the fact that her parents aren't around may piss him off more. He could also tell people at school, and Toni doesn't really want people to know about her family issues. Overall, she's not used to anyone being over but me. She was a little anxious last night with Veronica here as well.
