Toni's POV

We pulled up to the Sisters of Quiet Mercy and already felt the unwelcoming presence of the whole place. It looked like a very old and outdated hospital, maybe even more like an insane asylum. Alice turned the car off after parking and then looked back at all of us.

"I'm going to go in and check her out. All of you stay here."

"Wait I want to come with you!" I exclaimed.

"Toni, I think it's best if only I go in there-"

"Please? She's probably terrified and I need to be right there to get her so she knows she's safe." I cut her off as tears formed in my eyes again.

"Okay fine. I can see you're not letting this go." She sighed. "But everyone else needs to stay. Jason and Betty, please go to the back so Cheryl won't have to climb back there with Toni. Polly is in charge if anything happens. We'll be back in a few minutes." She explained.

"Okay." We all nodded. Jason and Betty got out and moved the seat for me to get out, then went to the very back and I fixed the seat for when Cheryl and I came back. Alice and I made our way to the large building and my heart raced each second we got closer. We finally made it into the building and we walked to the front desk.

"Hello, what can I do for you today?" The woman behind the desk asked.

"Hello, I'm Alice Cooper and we're here to check out my niece, Cheryl Blossom. My brother in law was called about her and he instructed me to pick her up." Alice explained to her.

"Ah yes. I'll call one of the nurses to bring her out." She smiled as she typed into her computer. She made a quick call that Cheryl was being checked out and then we waited. We only waited for a minute or two before a little old woman was walking out with Cheryl. The second I saw her my heart shattered into a million pieces. She was so pale and was littered with scratches and bruises, there were also obvious tear stains on her cheeks. I immediately rushed to her and gently wrapped my arms around her, causing her to immediately flinch and begin to cry.

"Cheryl? Hey it's okay." I said quickly as I reached out to her. She let me grab her hand and she came closer until she was sobbing into my embrace. "I got you, Cher. I'm here, I'm here." I whispered into her ear while Alice was speaking to the woman who brought her out as the woman gave Cheryl's things to Alice. I wonder what happened to her and I was terrified to know. Alice looked sad as she came over to us and we both began to walk Cheryl out of the building and to the car. We got in the car and everyone gasped when they saw Cheryl, which made her a little more upset. We helped her into the car and made sure she was comfortable, then Alice got in the front.

"Cheryl?" Jason asked gently, but Cheryl still flinched a little. "What happened in there?"

"Hey don't ask that right now." Alice said calmly after Cheryl tensed up. "It's too soon and we just need to get her out of here. All of you need to give her a little time, okay?" She explained.

"Okay." We all nodded.

Alice started driving away from the building and we were all quiet, wanting to look at Cheryl to see how she was doing, but choosing not to so we wouldn't frighten her. After a few minutes she finally spoke up.

"Is Mom dead?" She asked as her voice cracked with sadness.

"No, honey. She's okay." Alice reassured. "Do you want to go see her?"

"Yes, please." Cheryl nodded. Alice then told Jason to text Penelope so she knew to expect us. We began to make our way to the hospital but Jason stopped us.

"Hey she's getting released from the hospital in an hour. Does that change anything?" He asked.

"Hmm," Alice thought. "Cheryl? Would you like to go see your mom right now or do you want me to drive you back home so you can take a shower and change and then you can see her when she comes home?"
