nothing.

there's nothing inside his head right now. he can't think of anything, he can't even do anything. the sounds of doors being opened and closed repeated inside his head as he's been sitting outside the room for hours now, the busy doctors passing by him countless of times and their conversations now mixing in his brain, this hospital is making him go crazy. he sat there with body not moving, breathing slowing down, eyes dead, and looking everything about him just looking dead.

just then, heavy steps made by people that were running made renjun divert his attention from the blank wall across him to the side and saw breathless and panting boys. there were five of them, the five of them looked equally disheveled but one truly stood out with those bloody eyes.

❝hyung!❞ jisung screamed, running pass by renjun and kept on slamming the locked door, calling jaemin over and over again.

they all turned to chenle who's taking small steps towards jisung and wrapped his arms around the younger's waist and buried his head on jisung's back, mumbling some comforting words. he may have not stopped jisung from crying but at least he calmed him down from screaming and looking like he'll destroy the door just to see jaemin.

with mark and donghyuck approaching the youngest and helping chenle calm jisung down, jeno went to renjun who just sat there silently, looking up at him with those dead eyes.

❝jeno..❞

the male kneeled down to match the chinese's height and opened his arms wide for renjun. spacing out for a few seconds, renjun threw himself to jeno and immediately broke down upon feeling the comforting warmth of jeno.

❝sshh, renjun.❞ jeno rubbed circles behind the older as he could hear renjun having a hard time breathing as he cried really hard.

❝i hate myself.❞ renjun sobbed, ❝i hate myself!❞

❝it's not your fault..❞ jeno could feel the older tightening his embrace and he was suffocating from the hug but he kept quiet about it and just let renjun hug him tight.

❝i was too slow.❞ renjun cried out loudly, coughing up as he felt a lump from his throat. ❝i was too late.❞

❝he's going to be okay.❞ jeno's soothing voice calmed renjun's fast heartbeat a little bit, his body relaxing.

❝he is?❞ renjun sniffed, pulling away from the younger and letting him see his face swollen from crying very hard. jeno was hurt seeing renjun being like this. the younger sighed as he nodded his head and ran a hand through renjun's messy hair. ❝promise?❞

honestly, jeno doesn't know. he just received a phone call from donghyuck telling him that jaemin was in the hospital. he didn't feel the need to come but he knew that renjun is surely going to be here, which he was right, and he knows renjun needs someone to lean on. ❝promise.❞
