Poppy's PoV

Once again, it didn't take long for the news to spread and the first I heard about it was on the damned tv. I couldn't sleep much that night, thinking about Terry and how he must have been the person to sell Calum's story. He was a surgeon, one who worked at the hospital and did private work, he had more than enough money to survive on so why did he do it? It surely can't have been for more money after what Leanne had told me and that was ages ago. I got out of bed and headed to the front room, sitting on the sofa whilst I put the tv on very quietly. It automatically turned back onto the channel we'd been watching earlier in the day and before I knew it, another young presenter was on the screen as the cheesy pop music played.

"Hey guys, I'm Cameron, your host for this mornings early gossip segment!" He threw his thumbs up and let out a huge grin. "It's official, Katy Perry is engaged! We're so happy for her and cant wait to see her in her wedding dress! A few celebrities have tweeted their congrats to her and we are looking forward to seeing those group guest photos too! Onto other news, you remember Chanel telling you about Calum's new nurse girlfriend Poppy? She bravely tried to save a guy at a restaurant they were dining in a few days ago. Sadly, that guy died in hospital last night. We know she gave it a darn good go, but some newspapers have taken to suggest that maybe Poppy isn't as good of a nurse as she makes out? We don't wish to speculate but we reckon she is great. One person she works with, who didn't wish to be named, said she always tried to punch above her weight and it was only a matter of time before her mistakes would come to light. Ooh. Looks like she has some enemies. Any 5SOS fans want to give us their opinion on her? Head to our twitter page where we have a poll running! Finally, did you see what Kim posted on her Instagram? Yes the super famous kardashian posted up a picture of the expensive jewellery she was given as a gift from hubby Kanye. It looks like it could be worth a small fortune! Anyway, that's all from me, as always head online to stay up to date with it all! Byeeeee!" I switched the tv off and sat in the dark and silence for a moment as I finally got my head around what they had said to me. Greg had died, paps were eating up the story and someone from work - which I could already guess was Terry - had spoken about how my mistakes were just waiting to come to light. I couldn't believe my ears nor my eyes. I scrolled through the news on my mobile after searching my name and there they were; newspaper articles that were making fun of me and my failure to save Greg.

Nurse fails to save mans life while out with 5SOS bf

Is 5SOS gf fit to work in a hospital?

Did Poppy's neglect cause Calum's deterioration in ward?

What the hell?

I tried my best with Greg but he was having a severe allergic reaction. He needed things I didn't have with me and there was nothing more I could do. The paramedics had come as soon as they could but clearly that wasn't good enough for the paps. They wanted a story and they fucking got one. A nurse that couldn't save someone. I fidgeted about on the chair. I needed to have a conversation with Terry. If he had done this, he was going to pay for it. I stood up instinctively and grabbed my coat, throwing it on as I pulled my phone back out for a second. I screenshot the articles on google and left the tv of pause just at the end of my segment and just as I headed out the door, I sent the screenshots to Calum. He would understand at least. I headed down the stairs instead of taking the lift and made my way to the main reception. I told the guys down there I had a meeting to attend but I may be back later. I signed out quickly and handed back my visitors pass, rushing out of the building straight afterwards. I couldn't just sit there, not whilst I knew all of those things were being said about me. I had to act upon it, that and go somewhere nice and quiet to compose myself again. My first stop had to be Mr Shine's, if he still lived there. I hailed a taxi as I stood by the kerbside, wrapping my coat around me tightly to try and keep the warm in. He'd worked just as many shifts as I had this week, so he should be at home, resting. I got in the cab and gave him the address, a good starting point for someone who had no idea how to track him down. If he wasn't here, I wouldn't really know where to start so all my hopes were relying on him still living here. We pulled up swiftly afterwards and I paid the cab driver as I thanked him and got out. Heading straight for the front door and rapped on it loudly, throwing my arms around myself to keep me warm. A light came on from behind the door, lighting up the hallway as a shadowed figure made their way to the door. I quickly grabbed my phone and clicked the recorder, turning it on as I placed it back in my pocket just like Stacey had done when interrogating me. I could hear chains moving and bolts unlocking before the door finally opened, revealing Mr Shine in his pyjamas.

"What the hell? Poppy?" He looked behind him at the time. "It's 7:30am!" He leant against the doorframe tiredly, rubbing his eyes with his hands.

"Did you rat me out to the paps?" I spat, not offering any formalities before I began interrogating him. "You sold Calum's story, did you sell mine too?" My voice was getting louder with every sentence, hoping to embarrass him and cause a scene. He quickly looked around behind me at the houses down the street.

"Please Poppy! Stop shouting. Look, come inside, we can discuss this like adults." He gestured into his house as he stepped back, letting me in. I hesitated as I looked at him, wondering how well this conversation was going to go, before I stepped in and made my way to his front room.
