The dance was going well, I'd confiscated alcohol from almost every person and snuck a small bit into the punch.

Riley had been helping me put a lot so I promised him a fraction of the confiscated alcohol after the dance.

"I guess Jack really isn't turning up," Riley sighed, checking his watch and biting his lip.

It was 8:26pm, and the party started an hour and a half ago and ended in 29 minutes,

"You never know, a lot of people show up late," I told him.

"I guess," he said and secretly hid a small bottle of vodka under the table where all the other illegal drinks were. "Anyone you have your eye on?"

I looked up to the stage to see Phil helping the DJ pick out songs and I saw him smile which sent my stomach into butterfiles.

"Not really," I answered, looking back at Riley.

He smiled, "Mr Lester."

My eyes widened, but he shook it off.

"It's obvious," Riley smiled.

"I don't know, he might not even be my soulmate," I told Riley as I looked back up at the stage and Phil looked down at us and waved.

I smiled awkwardly and gave a lame wave.

"I don't know, he's very flirty with you," Riley smiled as he waved back as well.

"He is with everyone," I said, looking away from Phil and concentrated on the punch bowl.

"Sure," Riley said, "Guess we'll have to find out."

He jumped out from behind the tabel and I shouted over the music, "Riley? What are you doing?! Riley?!!"

He ran right around the crowd and up onto the stage and tapped Phil on the shoulder before he whispered something into his ear.

Phil nodded and Riley gave me a thumbs up, coming back toward me.

I saw Phil get a different disc and pass it to the dj.

"Now we wait, and we hope," Riley whispered into my ear.

"Wait and hope for what?" I asked him.

"Wait for the slow dance, hope for him to pair with you, duh," Riley smiled.

The dj dimmed the music after Phil told him something and he passed Phil the microphone.

"Ahem, testing," Phil said and his voice boomed through the speakers.

The crowd's laughter and chatter died down to listen to what he had to say.

"As a request from the lovely Riley Manning, he's like to end this annual event differently this year. Instead of breaking apart after the very last song we play, we'll play a final slow dance and everyone need to pair up. Especially the teachers and commitee members, who will have a final speech before we all part ways. Before the song starts playing, remember, use a condom tonight," he said and passed the microphone back to the dj who put their headphones on and started the slow song.

I bit my lip and looked away from the stage where Phil was fixing himself up and toward to doors and I nudged Rileyy.

"Somebodies here," I told him, and he turned around but he face lit up as Jack came up to him.

"I know I h-have a lot to ex-explain... but may I have this d-dance?" Jack stuttered and Riley pulled him into the large group of teenagers pairing up.

I drummed my fingers on the table but reached under and picked up the small bottle of Vodka Riley hid.

I opened it up under the table and turned away from the crowd, taking a gulp or two of the bottle's contents.

I coughed and chugged the rest of it, grunting at the burning I felt.

I hid the bottle back under the table and felt a very light tap on my coat shoulder, so I spun around to come face-to-face with a gorgeous set of blue eyes that had green and yellow thunderbolts running through them.

"H-hello," I hiccupped, and brought my hand up to my mouth as my stomach filled with butterflies.

"I don't think that's allowed," Phil smiled and I grinned nervously, my heart beating a million miles a minute.

"No harm in a small bottle," I smiled, trying to keep the hiccups down but failing.

He laughed and gestured to the floor where couples were swaying, some people's black marks shining bright colours and others not but still happy to be there, "May I take this dance?"

"Wh-what?" I asked, making sure I heard correctly.

"May I have this dance?" he asked again, getting a little more serious but keeping the smile on his face.

"Y-yeah, of course," I smiled, and I followed him out to the dance floor.

He led us to the left of the crowd but we were surrounded by people.

I grinned nervously as I looked into his eyes, "I've never really slow danced."

He smiled, "Me neither."

"How? You're gorgeous," I said, saying the words before I could stop them and I looked toward the ground nervously, biting my lip again as he laughed.

"You're beautiful too," he said, and pulled me closer by my waist, and I felt floaty and elated, just like how Riley explained it.

I looked down and my waist where the black marks were were now going different colours and I looked up into Phil's eyes, and he looked just as surprised as I felt.

I looped my arms around his neck, as that felt most comfortable, and nuzzled my head into his neck.

We swayed back and forth, like the rest of the crowd, but it felt like it was only Phil and I there.

Too soon, the slow dance ended and Phil pulled away to go help the commitee people give their final speech.

I notified Riley I'd be waiting outside and took myself into the cold air, ripping off my jacket which smelt dleiciously of Phil.

I walked to my car and leant againt the car door as I waited for Riley to come out.

I don't know how long I was stood in the cold, but I was in my own small world where it was only Phil and I, slow dancing again, and again, and again,

I relived the moment in my mind and bit my lip, holding back a dorky smile.

I heard footsteps approach and looked up to expect Riley, but it was Phil.

"Hey," he smiled, his hands in his pockets.

"Hey," I smiled back, looking between his two eyes.

We were stood there for who know how long but eventually I just wanted the actual presence of Phil's arms around me, so I walked to him and hugged him tightly.

He seemed a bit surprised but enveloped me quickly and I took in his smell and his feel before I pulled away and kissed him on the lips.

He kissed back, full of lust and love, and as cheesy as it is, my heart was a fluttery mess.

"I'll see you tomorrow," he said, as he pulled away and our foreheads met, "And I'll take Riley home for you."

I nodded and smiled before I pecked his lips again.

"Good night," I said, and I stepped out of his hug and into my car, giving my lame wave before driving back to my flat.
