Mixed Feelings

SIDE NOTE (I'm tired so if this makes no sense I'm sorry 😂😂): Dan's coming out video was one of the most inspiring, proudest and happiest moments I've ever had in my life (I'm still sobbing over it lolll) and I'm so freaking happy for him. In this video, I'm he addresses his relationship with Phil and although I write smut and fluff and all that, I still respect their privacy and if they say that they want writers to stop writing sexual things about or encouraging 'Phan' then yes, I'll stop writing these oneshots and do something better with these. However, I won't stop because someone across the world half my age tells me to stfu and stop doing what I enjoy because they feel the need to speak on behalf of two grown up, capable men. Anyway ONWARDS TO THE STORY...

Just as I was getting ready to go into court to woo the jury, I got a phone call from Aaron's school, and I apologised to my coworker and client as I walked to a more quiet area.

"Hello?" I said as soon as I answered the call.

"Is this Mr Howell speaking?" who I assume the receptionist asked.

"Yes," I replied, frowning. Aaron didn't have many needs, so this is probably just for an excursion I needed to pay for.

"Uh, Aaron, is it? Aaron got into a fight. He isn't too physically damaged apart from a blood nose. He hurt the other kid a lot more," they told me and my blood ran cold.

I didn't know I was quiet for so long until the receptionist cleared her throat.

"We'll need you to come down and receive your child, and he's suspended for three days. We also want to figure out why they started fighting in the first place so I called the other kid's parent," she said.

"I'm on my way," I told her, hanging up and explaining the situation to my coworker and client.

They'd be able to work on the case without me easily.

I rushed out of the courthouse and got into my car, starting it up as soon as I could and driving off.

Aaron's school was only five minutes away, but I made it three as my thoughts ran wild.

He never seemed to want to fight anyone, so why now? What did this little shit say to him?

I pulled into the school's car park, surprised I didn't leave marks on the road and jumped out of my car, adjusting my suit as I rushed to the office.

"Dad!" Aaron called upon my arrival, rushing up and hugging me.

He dropped an ice pack he was holding to his nose as he rushed over to me, revealing his nose that had bled everywhere. His brown eyes contrasted against his stained skin and his eyes that were a little red.

"Aaron, are you okay? What did they do to you?" I asked, dropping onto my knees and pushing his brown hair out of his eyes. I licked my thumb and started to try to wipe away the red stains around his nose.

As Aaron was about to answer, I heard a deep, familiar voice behind me that made my blood run cold.

"Daniel James Howell... haven't seen you since high school," he said, and I went stiff.

"Philip Michael Lester, the Apple doesn't fall far from the tree," I shot back, smug as I spun around.

His appearance had changed a lot; now sporting a quiff and black, smart glasses that slightly enlarged his light green-blue eyes, and accentuated his smug glare. He also wore a smart suit, presumably from his job. His hair was still dyed black, though.
