I pushed my glasses up my nose as I leaned back in my chair, continuing the book.

The library wasn't busy on Tuesdays, and there wasn't going to be anybody else until two when the boy comes.

He'd been coming every single day for the past two years I'd been working at the library, but he never borrowed a book; he just sat in the corner reading until there's fifteen minutes until closing time.

He was definitely shy, as he always got flustered when loud teenagers picked on him for being tucked in the corner, away from everyone else. He never spoke to anyone either. I don't think I've ever heard his voice.

The teenagers go away after ten minutes of hassling the few people that are around when they are, but most regulars know the usual time they come so they change their schedule to come a bit later.

I'd realised I'd been reading but not taking any information in, so I went back and read the few paragraphs again but I couldn't concentrate so I put the book down.

I stood up and checked my watch that read 1:49pm.

I decided to put away some books and wheeled the history book cart to the history section.

Checking the spine of the books, I began to place the books on the appropriate shelves.

I loved working in the library, it was always so peaceful and the people were generally so friendly.

I'd finished in that aisle so I wheeled the cart to the next, putting away some of the remaining books.

I didn't earn much but I manage to buy what I need and sometimes what I want.

My boss, Ms Morrison, is always really nice and bakes cookies for me on Fridays which is a nice treat to look forward to.

"Excuse me?" a small voice said and tugged at my shirt.

I turned around and looked down to see a small boy, about the age of 8 staring back at me.

"Where can I find books about dinosaurs?" he asked politely.

"Do you know your abc's?" I asked and he nodded. "You'll want to go to the place where all the beanbags are and go to where the books are on display, I put an interesting dinosaur book up there this morning."

"Thank you!" he whisper-shouted, running off and behind the kids' bookshelves on the other side of the library.

I chuckled and turned around, walking to the other side of the cart and pushing it to the next aisle.

I didn't have any awareness of what was going on around me though, as I bumped into a tall person who dropped his books.

"Oh, my god, I'm so sorry!" I apologised, picking up his books he dropped at the same time he was.

I grabbed them quickly and as I reached for the last book, I accidentally hit his hand with mine.

"Sorry," I said again, cursing myself for my clumsiness and frantic, frazzled actions.

He picked up the book and we both stood up straight again.

I looked up at his face and realised it was the boy... or man rather.

I'd never seen him up close until now, so I took in all his features; his deep, but soft brown eyes and brown curly hair with dimples showing as he smiled nervously and bit his chapped lips, as pink dusted his nose and cheeks.
