Part 4/?

The past two weeks were full of meeting up at midnight and make-out sessions. Each morning I woke up before Mavis knocked at my door and the bubbly feeling never went away — not that I was complaining. It felt as if I had inhaled all the clouds and could float if I wanted to. My family also noticed how happy I'd suddenly become and thought it was because of being able to finally ride a horse out somewhere and allowed me to more often, but little did they know..

I felt arms wrap around my waist and he kissed the back of my neck, causing me to instinctively squirm away but then I melted right back. "How many times do I need to tell you I'm sensitive there?" I asked breathily as he kept trailing kisses along the back of my neck.

"How are you?" he asked and spun me around, completely ignoring my question.

"Better," I said and held his hands as I leaned in to plant a kiss on his lips. "Guess what..."

"What?"

"I'm ruling the kingdom for a week next week, and Adrian's going with my parents, and so I'll be all alone. You know what that means?" I asked and raised my eyebrows suggestively.

He gasped and whispered, "Howell! We can play hide-and-seek!"

I scoffed a laugh and rolled my eyes. "No, you daft bugger. Privacy."

"I know, I know. Are you sure you'll be ready to do anything?" he asked, fully serious now.

"Yes. I want to. It's not like I'm a virgin..." I started then trailed off.

"But you've never done anything with a guy," he finished my sentence and I nodded.

"But I want to. With you, I mean," I told him and swung our hands gently back and forth beside us.

"I'm ready when you are," he said and I smiled.

"Me too."

I leaned in for another kiss and hoped it would never get old, and that feeling of little bursts in my stomach and heart would never go away.

Time skip

It was the next day and I was up and dressed and walking to the stables before even seeing a lock of Mavis's deep red hair. My mind was swimming with thoughts and I felt a little nervous but I kept walking to the stables, not wanting to ignore the nagging thought in my mind. When I got to the stables, I saw Phil leaning against the stable entrance frame and when he looked up, all I could see was his smile.

"Good morning," he said cheerfully and rubbed my arm (which was the equivalent to a greeting kiss but there were plenty of people around. We'd been seen together just hanging out and luckily no one had seen us together together, so they could keep thinking of Phil as my best friend. Which is what he is, but also so much more).

"Morning," I replied, half-forcing a smile suddenly feeling as though my thought was stupid and should be pushed down but Phil realised my weirdness.

"What's up?" he said just above a whisper and his smile faltered as we walked side-by-side into the barn.

"It's stupid. Don't worry," I told him and shook my head but he stopped me.

"Tell me. Or I won't come tonight," he threatened and I just smirked.

"As if," I said smugly and he rolled his eyes before smiling too.

"Fine. You got me. But you still need to tell me," he insisted and I huffed.

"Can I visit you sometime in the village? I've never been down there without a bajillion guards trailing two feet behind me and I just want to see the inside like everyone else, everyone normal..." I realised I was rambling so I stopped myself by biting my lip.
