Come Back to Me (Izuocha)

Chapter 1: Discourse

** Izuku's POV **

Today we got our first look at the top students at UA; or one of them at least. Mirio Togata, 3rd year UA student and one of The Big 3. After having him single-handedly take out our entire class today I can see why he's one of the top students.

I need to remember to study him more and write down the information about how he uses his quirk. I took out my notebook and started taking notes as the rest of the class was on their way to the dorms.

"Man we had our butts handed to us today big time!" complained Kaminari as we walked close enough for me to hear him.

I replied without looking up from my note-taking. "Yeah, which is why we need to learn how to be just as good" Just then Uraraka catches up to me.

"Hey Deku. Whatcha doing?" She asks as she falls into step next to me.

"Oh, Hey Uraraka," I said nervously. "Man she is really close to me right now: I thought as I felt my face begin to heat up. "I'm just taking notes on Togata's fighting style and quirk advantages I replied in response to her question holding up the notebook in my hand.

"Classic Deku," she said with a smile. Just then a look of concern appears on her face. "Deku, why's your face getting so red?" She asked me with a worried tone.

"Oh, m-m-my face?. I-I-I'm just still r-r-recovering from the fight. That's all." I said hurriedly trying to hide my blush.

Just then Asui appears next to Uraraka. Uraraka and Ausi fell a few steps behind giving me some breathing room and sparing me any further embarrassment. I was both relieved and disappointed at Asui's interruption. "Wait, why do I feel disappointed by this?"I thought.

I was spared any further contemplation on this when I got a text from All Might.

It read: "Come see me after class. We should talk about your hero work study."

This was good. I've been feeling really anxious about the whole "work-study" thing and it would be good to talk it over with him. I started heading back towards the main building away from the rest of the class. Uraraka noticed called after me.

"Hey Deku, where are you going?"

"I, umm. I forgot something back at the facility! I'll see you guys later." I replied over my shoulder and with that, I started making my way to All Might's office.

When I arrived, I found All Might making tea in his office.

"Hey All Might," I said as I walked in the door.

"Hey, kid. Have a seat." I did as he asked and sat down in the chair across from his couch. We joined me a moment later sitting across from me so that he could look at me while he spoke. "I know you're probably worried about the whole "work-study" thing. I also know that you've spoken to Gran Torino about it to ask if you could do it with him."

"Oh, so you know about that?" I really shouldn't have been surprised with him and Gran Torino being such good friends and all. All Might just smiled

"Yep, and I also know what he suggested as an alternative for doing it with him."

"And? What do you think?"

All Might looked up at me, "I think it's a great idea, Dave is a brilliant man and I think you could learn a great deal if you were to work with him! But I'm just giving you my suggestion you're free to choose whatever you'd like."

"Thanks All Might"

"Well, that's all I've got to lay on you for now. Go on and join your friends now." said All Might as he stood up.

"Okay then. Bye, All Might." I was relieved at All Might's approval for the work study. I've been really worried up until now about what to do, but now it seems as though I at least have a direction to go. I contemplated this as I walked back to the dorms to join the rest of class 1A.
