**Ochako's POV**

It's been more than a week since Deku was taken, and in that time I haven't been able to concentrate on anything other than getting him back.

We found out that All Might was actually fine a few hours after the league got him. It appeared that the league had planted a knock out drug in his home and had used a duplicate of All Might to lure Deku in.

Who knows how long they'd been planning to do this.

Classes resumed quickly since it was essential for us to become heroes but I couldn't be bothered with it at the moment. Every time I tried to focus in class my mind would drift back to Deku almost immediately.

I was a wreck. I hadn't been able to sleep well since he was taken and I was barely eating.

Even though I'm normally very talkative I kind of just hung back from the rest of the class.

I felt depressed, Deku had been taken by the league and no one had any idea where he was.

I felt empty without him here. Almost as if we were a vital organ of mine that had just been removed. However, despite how much I wanted to get him back, there was nothing I could do but wait.

Wait... and hope.

It was 9 pm on Friday, 12 days since Deku went missing when something finally happened.

Usually, on Friday night everyone would be making a ton of noise and goofing off.

But not when one of our classmates was in the hands of villains. Tonight everyone was just watching a quiet movie.

I tried to watch with everyone else but in the end, I decided I just wasn't feeling up to it so I went and sat at one of the tables in the back to think.

The movie was just about over and I was about to head up to bed when Mr. Aizawa rushed into the room.

"Class 1A suit up! I know it's late but it's about time you handled your first hero mission with your provisional license. There was a small accident a few blocks from the school, and you're going to be handling it."

This came as quite a surprise for us but no one was going to argue. The whole class had been down of late and this could probably help cheer us up a bit.

Everyone donned their suits and headed out as fast as we could to the scene of the accident.

We were all nervous and a little excited to see what our first mission would be even if it was just a small accident.

We arrived at the scene to find a partially collapsed building with smoke billowing from its wrecked walls. It appeared to have been some kind of restaurant but it was hard to tell with most of the place destroyed.

"Here it is class." Said Mr. Aizawa.

"We got a call recently that this place suddenly exploded from the inside causing the damage you see before you. We believe this to be the fault of a gas leak. No one was harmed as far as we are aware but that's where you come in." he turned to us and smiled.

"Your mission here is to scope out the extent of the damage and see if anyone might have been here when the blast occurred after all. Got it?"

"Yes sir!" the whole class shouted in unison.

For the next hour and a half, class 1A carried out its first mission.

After examining the damage and the debris we were relieved to find that no one seemed to have been caught by the blast. As for the cause of the explosion, the discovery of a broken pipe had us confirm that it had been a gas leak.

We were starting to head back to school after a successful first mission when Jirou's voice cut into everyone's conversation.

"Hey, guys? Where's Kaminari?"

Everyone abruptly stopped their conversations and began scanning their surroundings.

"He's not here," said Kirishima.

"Let's go back and find he probably just wasn't aware we were leaving yet."

Everyone quickly agreed and returned to the site.

Everyone spread out to look for Kaminari. People were searching in every spot they could think of.

I ended up searching in what appeared to be the remains of the places former kitchen. The room wasn't actually in that bad of a state compared to the rest of the place.

The wall and door separating it from the rest of the building were still intact so it ended up being pretty dark in there.

I entered the room and started looking around.

As I was searching the entrance to the kitchen however I heard a clatter of pans hitting the cold hard floor on the other side of the room.

It was only then, accompanied by my steadily rising heartbeat, that I got the feeling that I was being watched.

I strained my eyes as hard as I could trying to make as little sound as possible in the darkness.

After a moment I was faintly able to pick out the shape of someone on the other side of the room.

"Kaminari?" I whispered as loudly as I dared.

Saying that was like flipping a switch as the figure immediately bolted out the kitchens back door.

As the door flew open, some moonlight from the alleyway outside lit up the floor.

As I got my first good look at the kitchen floor I felt a sickening sensation in my stomach and my head started to spin.

What I saw, was blood, and quite a lot of it, in a trail leading out the door my illumination was coming from.

As if someone was dragged outside while bleeding out from an open wound.

"GUYS!" I shouted. "I FOUND SOMETHING IN THE BACK ALLEY!"

I knew my class would be coming soon but Kaminari could be in really bad shape right now and I couldn't afford to wait.

I ran out into the back alley ready to face whatever was thrown my way. I ran outside completely expecting someone to jump at me at that moment but there didn't appear to be anyone around.

Satisfied that I wasn't in any immediate danger I started to look for Kaminari.

He didn't take long to find.

I followed the blood trail a little ways into the alley until I found him lying next to the wall near a corner.

As soon as I saw him a ran over to see if he was okay. He was slumped over, unconscious (hopefully he was just unconscious).

I put my hand to his neck in order to check for a pulse and was immensely relieved to feel one. It wasn't very strong but at least he was alive.

I could see he had a wound in his side that was bleeding profoundly but luckily it didn't seem too deep nor did I think it had hit any of his vital organs.

Just then Kaminari regained some consciousness.

He opened his eyes a little bit and looked at me.

"Mi... Mido..." he mumbled weakly trying to say something I couldn't really understand.

"Kaminari, take it easy, you're in shock," I said carefully to him.

Kaminari struggled for a moment while he lifted his hand. I could see it shaking as he tried. He lifted it up and pointed down the other end of the alley before he whispered something almost inaudible.

"He's... here." before losing consciousness again.
