**Midoriya's POV**
I woke up this morning feeling mentally drained and covered in sweat.
I had just experienced the most confusing dream of my life if that's what it was.
It was like I had been brought to an empty black void in my sleep. Someone else was there, I know there was, I felt them.
I had also felt them attempt to enter my mind.
As soon as I realized that I did my best to shut them out, it appeared to work.
Thankfully.
But then the blackness had been replaced with a vibrant image, too detailed to be imagined.
What really caught me off guard though was the fact that I was in the vision.
I had been going into UA in the vision, but I had never been to UA high school in my life, I was sure of it.
And after that, I saw myself using the quirk I have to save a girl from being crushed.
Once again I was confused because I didn't ever remember having done a thing like that.
I also noticed that the girl I had saved and the one I had interacted with briefly in the two visions was the same girl I had encountered in the alley some nights ago.
At the end of what I saw I had been so confused, I had let my defenses slip.
That had been a mistake as I felt the other mind with me attempt to break in again.
I raised my defenses again as fast as I could and this time, I tried to make them go away, to try and leave this place, anything!
I don't truly understand what happened, but I know I released some kind of energy that was strong enough to wake me up and push my attacker away.
I sat up, dazed by the events that had transpired.
I thought back to the things I had seen involving me.
It didn't make any sense.
How could see myself appear in places I had never been or do things I had never done?
I thought back to the other presence I felt, that was trying to breach my mind.
Thinking about how I had let my guard down at the end.
It had to be a trick, had to be.
Some pro hero or student probably had a quirk that allowed them to conjure up lifelike images and play them like movies.
It had to have been done to put me off guard and give them the opportunity to enter my mind, I convinced myself
Satisfied with my explanation, I got up and observed the camp spot I had picked the previous night.
A little clearing in the woods surrounding UA high.
I had picked this spot so that I wouldn't have to waste as much time going to UA every day in order to spy on the students.
I picked up my bag containing the few items I had brought: binoculars, notebook & pen, food rations.
I strapped my bag onto my back and headed out for the school's training grounds.
I still had a couple of weeks left in order to gain as much information as I could about my class 1A.
So far I had done well, I now knew all the quirks the students of class 1A possessed and the ways they could apply them in battle.
I was still collecting data of everyone's fighting styles and where they had the best advantages.
I intended to have all that information with me by the time my surveillance time was up.
As I neared the school grounds I put on my mask and mouthpiece.
After my mask was on I took my vantage point up in the trees where I could easily survey the training grounds used by first years.
I was glad to see I hadn't missed any training of class 1A. In fact, they were just arriving on the training grounds.
Perfect.
I watched for a long while as they trained with my notebook in hand.
I tried to study every move they made and where there might be weaknesses in their fighting styles.
As I watched everyone I noticed something I had picked up on at the beginning of my time here again.
Every student seemed to be upset about something, I could see their sluggish actions and their lack of interaction with each other.
Heck, even the teachers seemed to be experiencing this too.
"What is going on here?" I thought.
It's like they lost a loved one or something. And it couldn't be all about the student I had already injured.
I had found out days ago that he was recovering well.
I didn't have time to contemplate though.
If anything, this would work to my advantage.
An enemy that's distracted with personal matters will be more likely to make mistakes in battle.
I observed the rest of their training session quietly as I took notes. By the end of it, I felt I had compiled a fair amount of data.
If I went one on one with any of the students I felt fairly confident with my chances.
Although I would be nervous about fighting either Todoroki or Bakugo, both of those had incredibly powerful quirks and seemed to have pretty good ideas of how to use them.
Satisfied with my work for the day, I packed my things and headed back to my campsite for the night.
