**Izuku's POV**
The next few weeks went by pretty quickly. Classes resumed as normal with the only difference being the scheduled hour of training time every day after class with Uraraka.
We made good progress, we were making quick work of assessing our strengths and weaknesses at our given situations and I felt we really had this one in the bag. Though now that I knew I had a crush on Uraraka I would start to feel butterflies in my stomach every time I saw her.
I would constantly catch myself staring at her throughout the day and would have to snap myself out of it. And every time she smiled at me my knees would threaten to collapse from under me. I just kept thinking about her more and more and it was driving me crazy.
When we first started working on the project we quickly realized that we hadn't really mapped out a plan for the weekends so we just went ahead and decided that we would try and train in the mornings of our Saturdays and the afternoons on Sundays.
It was on one of these Saturdays that something unexpected happened.
We were finishing up our training for the day, during which I had somehow managed to space out while staring at Uraraka at least 3 times. I can't seem to help it though. I just get lost every time I see her graceful movements and the sway of her cute brown hair.
Luckily she didn't seem to notice. As we were about to end for the day however, Uraraka came over to me to ask me something.
"Hey, Deku?" she asked quietly.
"Yeah?"
Uraraka wasn't looking up at me and her cheeks seemed to be taking on a darker shade.
"You alright?" I asked.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine. I was just wondering... Would you maybe wanna grab some lunch with me or something?" she said this all in a hurry as if she was trying to get them out as fast as possible.
I was surprised by her words but happy.
"Sure," I said, trying to sound casual.
I failed.
At my reply, Uraraka finally perked up.
"Great!" she said happily. "Come on let's go."
I followed Uraraka through the crowded city streets as she led me over to a cafe that she liked. I was happy to let her choose, I didn't know many good places to eat around here.
I was also freaking out at the same time though, I mean. Uraraka just asked me out to lunch!
"Whoah, slow down." I mentally scolded myself. "It's not like this is a date or anything." At the thought of the word "date" however, I could feel the heat rising to my face.
I desperately hoped that Uraraka was to focused on where we were going to notice me turning the color of a tomato. But just as I thought I might be calming down, my situation got 100 times worse.
Uraraka must have finally spotted the place as she seemed to get excited. It was a small simple cafe on the corner with large scale windows allowing you to look inside the whole place.
In her excitement and eagerness to get there, she grabbed my hand and started practically dragging me to the entrance. I felt my blush rise again, this time much more intense.
"She was holding my hand!" At that point, I was praying that she would let go. I couldn't handle this level of embarrassment around her.
"Damn, this girl is going to be the death of me," I said to myself.
She pulled me into the place a moment later and I got a good look at the place. It was a very clean and tidy place, with a decent amount of tables spread out evenly on the inside and a counter at the back where some people were working.
At that moment I realized that Uraraka was still clutching my hand. She didn't seem to notice though. She just looked around happily, she then looked at me with a smile and said
"Here we are." in her usual cheerful voice. Just then she seemed to realize that she was still holding my hand. She immediately let go and looked away.
I looked away too, I was probably the color of Kirishima's hair at this point. Uraraka, seeming desperate to clear the awkwardness of the moment suggested we find a table to which I quickly agreed.
We settled down a table overlooking the street outside. We were given a menu within moments and we got to ordering. Or at least, Uraraka got to ordering, I tried to concentrate on the menu but in the end, I just couldn't seem to focus on the words. I just kept thinking back to her holding my hand.
I was mostly freaking out but there had also been a part of me that hand enjoyed it. Her soft hand gently clasped in mine.
I didn't realize I was spacing out until the waiter asked me what I wanted to order. I ended up just getting what Uraraka was getting.
We made idle chatter as we waited for our food. Once it arrived we halted our conversation to eat. Turns out Uraraka has pretty good taste when it comes to this place as she had ordered a very good pork pie.
We both ate eagerly then paid for our food before we started heading back to UA shortly afterward. On our walk back to school we were mostly silent, only making some small talk every once in a while. As the school came into view I felt Uraraka's hand brush mine as she walked next to me.
The contact was so sudden and unexpected, I thought I felt my heart skip a beat. Once we arrived on campus Uraraka smiled at me once more before saying.
"Thanks for coming with me Deku. I had fun." I returned her smile.
"Me too. Well, I guess, I'll see you later then."
"Alright then." She replied. "Bye"
She then turned in another direction and walked off towards the dorms.
