**Izuku's POV**
I awoke a few hours later in the infirmary. I was drenched in sweat and my heart was beating so fast it felt like it was trying to escape my chest.
Probably the lingering effects of a nightmare I couldn't recall the details of.
I looked around to assure myself that my dream wasn't real and that Uraraka was okay. Once I got my bearings I managed to start calming down. My breathing slowly returned to normal, as did my heart rate.
A few minutes later Recovery Girl walked in and noticing that I was awake, made her way over to my cot.
"Good, you're awake," she said as she reached my side, "You're all healed up. You should be fine to walk again."
"Thank you," I said weakly. "But aren't you going to scold me for hurting myself again?"
Recovery Girl just shook her head,
"Not this time. This time, you at least had a good reason for doing what you did. Thanks to you that girl is still walking. Now hurry along, you've been here long enough."
I thanked her again as I started walking out of the Infirmary.
After I exited the room I checked the time, to see that class had ended already and the rest of class 1A would probably be at the dorms at this point so, that's where I went.
It didn't take me too long to get to the 1A dorms and once I did I walked in the door to find most of the class in the common space.
"Hey! Midoriya's back!" shouted Ashido ecstatically.
"Nice to see you back on your feet," said Ojiro from the couch. The rest of my classmates exchanged similar greetings as I came in the door. I looked around but I couldn't find Uraraka anywhere in the room.
As everyone was getting back to their activities I tapped Tsuyu on the shoulder.
"Hey Tsu," I asked, "Have you seen Uraraka?"
"Oh, yeah. She's in the backyard. Shortly after we got back she went outside saying that she needed some time to herself."
"Thanks, Tsu," I said and started walking to the back door.
"Don't mention it Midoriya" she called after me.
I reached the back door and stepped outside to be greeted by the crisp night air. It had gotten dark by this point and the only light I had out here was the light spilling out of the dorm windows.
It didn't take me long to find her. She was sitting behind a tree with her back to me looking up into the branches. I started to make my way towards her slowly as to not startle her.
When she eventually caught on to my presence she looked over her shoulder to see who it was. Seeing it was me her face lit up and she came rushing towards me.
"Deku!" She shouted happily as she almost tackled me to the ground with a fierce hug. A hug I quickly returned.
"I'm so glad you're okay," she said looking up at me with her beautiful brown eyes. I just smiled in return.
We stayed that way for a while until she finally pulled away. I was hard to tell in the dark but I thought I could see her face turning red. I was once again struck by a wave of odd feelings as I saw her. I still didn't know what they were but they felt, right.
My train of thought was interrupted however when I heard Uraraka nervously try to get my attention.
"Hey Deku?"
"Yeah?" I asked in response.
"We should probably make a plan to work on the school project don't you think?"
"Your right." I said "How about you and me do some training on our own every day after class? Maybe about an hour every day?" I asked hopefully.
"Sounds good!" she beamed, and just like that, it was settled.
Soon after Uraraka and I decided on the work schedule we would be following for the project we both decided that we should get some sleep and headed off to our separate rooms.
That night while lying in bed I couldn't help but think about what the following weeks might have in store for me. I was a little excited, to be honest, not only would we be gaining a better understanding of the practical applications our quirks could have in any given situation, I would be doing all that with Uraraka.
As that thought crossed my mind I found myself wondering yet again why I was so excited to spend time with her, and why her smile filled me with a warm glow that made me want to protect her from anything that might wish her harm. It was then that my conscience whispered the words in my mind and it finally hit me.
"You like her. Don't you?" That was it. I couldn't think of any other explanation. I had a crush on Uraraka.
