(Cole's POV)

Two weeks have  passed since the big storm that postponed tryouts. I finally learned the boys name, Morro. He was abandoned that night. He hasn't said by who, but I'm still mad at that person! They left a child out in a terrible storm. ALONE!

Since the storm we had gotten Morro enrolled on my school and gave him new clothes and a haircut. His shoulder length hair was now in a bowl cut shifting in the wind. Still long enough to just hover his dark green eyes.

Today was his first day and Morro was walking beside me glancing around nervously. "You'll be okay." I told him. "How can you be so sure, what-what if they don't like me! I-I..." "Morro! Listen to me. You will be okay! You'll make lots of friends. You can hang out with me until your ready to go off on your own. Okay?" "Okay." He said.

"BOO!" Morro jumped and hid behind me. I look up to see Nadakhan. "Really Nadakhan? He's just a little kid!" "Which makes him an easy target!" Nadakhan laughed. I growled and lunged at him. He blocked me and held me up by my throat. "Next time, think again before you challenge me." He said, a death glare in his eyes. I'm starting to think that he was just born that way.

"Let him go!" I turned to see Jay walking towards us. His clothes torn and soaked. His hair matted and out of place. His usually cheery chestnut eyes, were now filled with rage and sadness. He looked like he had just come out of a war!

"J-Jay!" I managed to say. His eyes met mine and they softened but quickly went back to the angry state when he saw what Nadakhan was doing.

"What did you just say?" Asked Nadakhan. "I said, LET. HIM. GO!" Jay screamed. It was so loud it could rival Kai's. Even Nadakhan was shocked. I took this opportunity to kick him in the stomach. He immediately dropped me and bent over hugging his abdomen.

I started gasping for air. Jay and Morro rushed over and helped me up. I was unsteady, so Jay threw my arm over his shoulder while Morro picked up my backpack and threw it over his back.

"Guys chill! I'm fine!" Jay looked at me like he couldn't believe what I said. He still had the same face of when he told Nadakhan to put me down. Anger. "Says the person who almost got killed!" I looked up to see Kai and my friends running toward me. Morro hid again, peeking out from behind me. "Sorry." Nya said when she realized that they had scared Morro.

(Morro's POV)

The others started talking and Jay, I think his name was, started to slip away. I followed him to the back alley. It probably wasn't smart to leave Cole, but I had to see where he was going.  He climbed on top of one of the dumpsters and was about to jump up onto the roof.

"Jay!" He turned around to reveal his hatred filled eyes and a blue bandanna pulled up covering his nose and mouth. He jumped down and walked up to me. "Ummm... Th-thanks for saving Cole back there. Without him I don't think I would be here!" I tried to sound thankful, but he saw right through me.

"Why are you really here?" He asked. I was scared of his present state. He seemed like he could take anyone down with a glare. "I-I just wanted to see where you were going... you don't look like you're in the best condition." I explained.

"Listen, Morro, right?" I nodded. " I have to go somewhere, don't tell the others that you talked to me. Especially Cole! Don't tell them that I'm leaving." I nodded. "Okay." "Good! Now you better get back to Cole." He jumped up onto the dumpster and hoisted himself onto the roof. I saw him disappear over the edge. But before I turned back, he jumped over the alley onto the next building.

I stood there amazed, but realized that Cole was probably worried about me. I ran out of the alley and slid up behind Cole, I don't think anyone noticed I was gone.

"Come on, let's get to class" The blonde said. I picked up Cole's bag and followed them to class.

I knew one thing for sure, I had to see Jay again.
