Meanwhile

(Jay's POV)

Kai was awake and Morro was waking up Cole. Guess I'll wake up Nya. I've been checking on her since the fight. She got knocked out pretty fast. I just wanted to make sure she was ok.

She opened her eyes to reveal beautiful chocolate orbs. I smiled. "She's awake!" She bolted up so quickly that I barely had enough time to get out of the way. She looked over my shoulder to see the rest of the group around the makeshift tar fire I made. Her eyes widened when she saw Zane. Guess she really didn't remember what happened.

"Drink this." I said offering her the same drink I have to the others. She took it cautiously and downed the entire thing. "What was that?" She asked. "I gotta have some secrets!" I laughed. She didn't look impressed. "Just an old recipe," I said leading her to the fire. "So, what exactly happened?" She asked as she sat down beside her brother.

(Short time skip)

Morro was having a lot of fun telling the story, Zane and I occasionally laughing. The others looked bewildered. Morro was laughing too hard so I continued the story. Zane started dozing off (probably because of blood loss) and they ate lunch. I went over to my backpack. I was running low on food.

I also went to think.

'Weird things have been happening. I can't control anything anymore. My emotions get the best of me and-' "Are you okay?" My train of thought was broken when Nya came to sit beside me. "Yeah, I'm fine." I said turning my back to her. "What do you want." "I just wanted to make sure you were okay. You seem a bit distant." I turned back to her only to meet her eyes. I turned away again. She sighed. "Anyway, here's some of my lunch, I'm not that hungry." She placed half a sandwich down beside me and stood up. I could hear her footsteps getting fainter as she walked away.

I felt my hand get cool and wet. I looked down. My hand was supporting a small floating ball of water. I dropped it and it splashed on my sweater. 'No no no no' I thought as I tried to clean it up. 'This isn't working.' I was getting frustrated. I felt my hand get warm. I looked down to see that my hand was on fire, but it surprisingly didn't hurt. I stifled a scream in order not to scare the others. And as quickly as it appeared, it was gone.

I looked over my shoulder and saw my friends casually talking and eating. Zane leaning on Cole's shoulder. I turned my back quickly. I couldn't let them see what was happening to me, or even be near me!

I had to run away again.

"Jay!" Cole asked me "What about tryouts?"

"Take a look." I replied pointing to the other side of the roof. I heard all of their footsteps running across the roof.

"Jay?" I turned and saw Cole behind me. "Did I really punch Nadakhan?" He asked with a laugh. "Yeah you really did." I nodded. "You landed one on him pretty good!" His smile disappeared.

"Wait, wait, wait, Jay you were there! I haven't seen you in WEEKS!" He was now pacing across the roof. (Thank the First Spinjitsu Master the others were out of ear shot.)

At me

I let my friends down. I let Cole down. "Cole I-I... I'm sorry. I-" "No Jay. No excuses this time. I'm tired of you going off to who knows where and not being here when we need you. When I need you!" He turned his back to me looking at the horizon. I lowered my head. I can't believe I let him down... he was my first friend. No. He was my best friend.

We stayed quiet for a few minutes, not talking to each other until a voice broke the silence.

"That's it! I'm going!" Nya proclaimed as she made her way across the roof. "Jay how do I get down!" I pointed to the west side of the school and she stomped over.

Wait! I'm coming too!" Kai shouted running after her. "I wanna get a good look at the grounds!" Nya rolled her eyes, but accepted. "Wait for me! Cole said plastering on a fake smile. He just wanted to get away from me. With all I've done I don't blame him. "Count me in!" Morro exclaimed.

"Zane you stay here with Jason." Cole told him. "You aren't in any shape to fight." Zane shook his head. "Never put off till tomorrow what can be done today." And with that he ran to the opposite side of the roof, jumped down on the dumpster and flipped off. He landed on the ground perfectly and stared expectantly up at the others. "Coming?"

They exchanged glances and followed Zane. Nya lowered herself over the edge of the roof and placed her head in her hands.

"Are you coming?" She asked. I'm turned away from her and continued to aimlessly rummage through my bag. "Maybe later." I heard her sigh, but ignored it. "Let's go!" She shouted. I heard their footfalls and laugher slowly fade as they ran towards the grounds.

Now I had time to think.

What was with these new powers. What was happening! Was it happening to others, or just me. After thinking for a hour I eventually fell asleep. I awoke to the cries of teachers and kids. "NADAKHAN NO!"
