TED'S POV: I was sitting at our booth at maclaren's pub confused, sad, and weirdly all alone, usually at least one of my friends would be sitting across from me, I ran my fingers through my hair stressfully and laid my head down ripping the label off my beer, I always do that when I'm upset, my problem is that I really like barney, ALOT I have no chance with him, he's the straightest guy in New York.
Barney walked into maclaren's pub and sat down across from me, I put my head up
"DUDE TONIGHTS GONNA BE LEGEN wait have you been crying dude?" Barney said
"No I'm doing good why" I said a little unsure he would buy it, I ran my fingers through my hair
"Liar! Whenever you're sad or stressed you run your fingers through your hair" barney said
"And plus it looks like you've been tearing the label off that beer, you always do that when you're mad or anxious" barney added
"Barney! I'm fine!" I yelled putting my head down before he could see the tears forming in my eyes
BARNEY'S POV:
Maybe I should just let it go although Ted looked really upset I knew If I brought it up again he would get more pissed
"You wanna do some shots? Get your mind off it?" I said with a sad smile
Ted picked his head up and turned it around wiping his eyes, he thought I couldn't see him, "HELL YEAH" Ted said with his eyes still red and held up his beer
"but first you need to do something" I said smiling
"What?" Ted asked
"SUIT UP" I yelled
"Dude no, I don't even own a suit" Ted responded
"You can borrow one of mine" I said
"Really were gonna drive all the way to your apartment just to get a suit, then drive all the way back?" Ted said rudely
"YOU TAKE THAT BACK, THEIR NOT JUST SUITS" I yelled
"Fine lets go" ted said unenthusiasticly
I grabbed his hand "FINALLY YOUR GONNA SUIT UP" I yelled
TED'S POV:
I smiled really big, I had to put my hand over my mouth because I didn't want him to know, barney was holding my had, although it was probably because I was walking slow and he was excited, but still, we got a taxi and barney told the taxi driver his address
Finally we got to Barney's apartment and he opened the door.
"Mm maybe this suit" Barney said holding up a navy blue suit
"Or this one" barney said as he held up a gray suit
"THIS ONE IS PERFECT" barney said holding up a normal black suit
"SUIT UP TED!" Barney yelled excitedly
"Ugh fine" I said walking into Barney's bathroom
I quickly put on the suit it was pretty tight on me probably because barney weighed a lot less than me, god I don't know how he wore these all the time they were really uncomfortable
I walked out of the bathroom
"Ted you beautiful bastard you suited up!" Barney said putting his hand over his mouth
"Why don't you suit up all the time? You look much better in a suit" barney said
"Because suits are stupid"
Barney gasped so loud "YOU TAKE THAT BACK" he yelled "NOT IN FRONT OF MY BABY" he said stroking the suit
"Lets go back to maclaren's pub already" I said ignoring his outburst
"NOT UNTIL YOU APOLOGIZE TO MY BABY" he said talking about his suits
"I am so sorry I love your suits" I said sarcastically
"Fine good enough" barney said irritated
We walked out of his apartment and we hailed a taxi and told him the address of maclaren's pub and we finally got there
"I'll order some shots and I'll be right back" he said as we got to our booth
I watched as barney went to order he turned and hit on some girl sitting nearby
typical barney I don't know what I expected it looked like he got her number, I was surprised he didn't just ditch me and go hook up with her, but he came back with 10 shots he took 4 and said the rest were for me
"Why? Theirs 10 why don't you just split them even?" I asked
"Because lord knows you need them more than me" he said hinting at earlier
I smiled sadly "I'm doing fine I swear" I said trying to look more confident
"Psst yeah ok ted" barney said taking one shot
I took a shot too and another and another
Barney kept 1 shot and slid 2 over to me
I looked confused
"Ted I'm not gonna take 4 shots I still have to hail a taxi to leave here I still need to have to think a little"
BARNEY'S POV
Ted already took 3 shots and was getting drunk slowly he has 5 left so he picked up one and drank it fast so I picked my last one up and drank it ted drank his other ones relatively fast and after that he got pretty drunk
"Hey Barney" ted slurred drunkily
"Yeah buddy" I said smiling, I wasn't drunk but I knew if I drank anymore I would be
"I WANNA PARTY" Ted yelled again with his drunk slur
"Yeah me too dude but it's late and we both have work tomorrow" i said although I knew I would just be bailing and not go to work and that Ted was to drunk to care or think about anything logical
"I don't care I wanna party" he said
I wasn't gonna take drunk ted to a club full of people even more drunk than him for him to do something he'd regret later, because although that all sounds fun to me tomorrow Ted would yell at me for not stoping him
"Ted maybe you and I should go home it's really late" I said knowing he wouldn't agree
"You're no fun" Ted said pouting
I got up and so did ted but he couldn't really walk so that meant I had to walk him all the way up to his apartment
I found the elevator and pressed the up button
We got inside the elevator it went all the way up and stopped then Ted & I got out I walked him to his apartment door and surprisingly it was unlocked
We went inside and ted dragged me to the couch
"Hey Barney?" Ted said
"Yeah dude" I said back
"I love you" Ted said
"Love you too buddy" I said smiling
"No I mean it I love you" ted said
"I know that's why I-" I said as Ted cut me off by kissing me
"I love you like that" Ted said
"No you don't ok ted your just really drunk"
"Psst I'm not drunk" ted slurred
"Yeah ok Ted I'll believe that when you're not hungover in the morning" I said standing up
Ted stood up to
"I wanna party!" Ted yelled excitedly
"Dude no" i said although it did sound fun
I put ted in his bed and put the covers over him
"You're my best friend Barney" Ted said
I looked shocked, I know it was probably just because he was drunk but he's never called me his best friend he always says Marshall is his best friend
I smiled big
"You're my best friend too"
"I LOVE YOU BARNEY" ted yelled
"Ok goodnight dude" I left and hailed a taxi and it drove me home I got home and fell asleep right away in my suit, usually I'd put on my pajama suit, but tonight I guess I was to tired.
