Trigger Warning: Abuse
——————————————————

Roman smirked to himself for the billionth time that morning. All he could really think about was the adorable emo bean that was his boyfriend now. For the time being. So long as he didn't mess it up.

He got to the bus stop, and speak of the devil, there was Virgil, who spotted him immediately. Standing next to him was Deceit.

"Hey, Virge," he said cheerfully to his boyfriend (yay!!!) and ignored the slimy boi standing to his right.

"Hey, Romano," Virgil replied in the most adorably nonchalant way he could. "How's it going?"

"Great, actually. I've been in an awesome mood lately," he said, grinning widely. "How're you?"

"A lot more comfortable now that you're here," Virgil admitted and took Roman's hand.

"Lovely. The two of you are officially a couple now, aren't you?" Deceit grumbled, rolling his eyes.

"Was it too obvious? Or should we kiss for five minutes straight so that you get the message that I'm off-limits?" Virgil growled.

"I mean, I wouldn't mind..." Roman muttered, and Virgil playfully smacked his arm.

"Whatever. Point taken," Deceit said, shrugging.

"Salutations," they all heard behind them. Logan came up to them. "Congratulations, by the way," he continued, talking to Roman and Virgil. "Patton told me about your whole conversation yesterday."

"Thanks, Logan," Roman smiled.

"Yeah, thanks," Virgil added.

They heard footsteps and spotted Remy, somewhat out-of-breath, running up the street to meet them. "Hey," he said, gasping slightly for air. "How's it going?" He gestured between Roman and Virgil. "You two a thing now?" Still confused slightly, the couple just nodded. "Cool. Anyone... Anyone seen Patton?"

"No, I haven't, actually," Logan frowned.

"He'd better hurry up," Deceit muttered." They all jumped, having forgotten he was there. "What? I don't talk for one minute, and suddenly I don't exist?" He put his hand on his chest and fluttered his eyelashes dramatically. "I'm honestly hurt."

"Patton's here," Virgil pointed behind Deceit.

"Thank goodness," Logan muttered.

"Hey, guys!" Patton said cheerfully. "Sorry I'm so late, I just slept in."

"Good to know that nothing's wrong," Logan sighed.

"Aww, you were worried?" Deceit leered.

Logan blushed slightly and simply said, "Yes, yes I was."

Patton grinned widely at him and said, "Thanks Logan, I appreciate it!" He gave him a quick hug, making Logan blush a deeper red, but also got another smile out of him. And possibly for the first time in his life, Patton threw Deceit a dirty look.

Finally, the bus pulled up. Virgil (naturally) sat with Roman, and Patton sat with Logan. Remy sat by himself, and when Deceit made to sit down next to him, Remy just muttered, "Can you just let me sleep today? I had kind of a rough morning."

Deceit was going to make fun of him, or taunt him, or something, but it was obvious even to him that Remy was just done with everyone by this point, and it was barely eight in the morning, so he sat down by himself. Besides, he was already asleep.

"I hope he's alright," Logan said to Patton. "He probably doesn't want me to tell you anything, so—"

"Major daddy issues?" Patton smiled sadly. "He talked to me, too."

"I do hope he's okay," Logan sighed.

"Yeah, me too." Patton stared out the window. "I wonder what happened yesterday."

-

Blow after blow came. He hid his face behind already scarred arms. They'd gotten to be that way from past beatings from his dad, which was the main reason he always wore long sleeves in public.

He didn't bother trying to run when it was over. He just sort of stood there until his dad told him to either get out or do something useful, or else. So he left the house.

He didn't go to Patton's house this time, he didn't want to bother him. He just walked around the area to explore and get to know it better.

He got back home a few minutes before his dad left. His mom was already there. He avoided both of them and slipped up to his room unnoticed. His mom never came to check on him.

It took him twenty minutes to do his homework, but as hard as he tried, he couldn't sleep,  he was still aching all over. It wasn't much better in the morning, seeing as he had barely gotten a wink of sleep. By the time he got to the bus stop though, he was just about ready to pass out.

-

Remy woke up when the bus stopped in front of the school. He wasn't about to try to skip despite how tired he was. He definitely wasn't in the mood for seven straight hours of work.

"Has a nice nap?" Deceit said with a nasty grin on his face.

Remy just shrugged and muttered, "not really. Might've been better if you weren't there."

"I apologize for interrupting your beauty sleep, Princess. Next time around I'll make sure—" he continued until Remy interrupted him, waving him off.

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever. Time to go subject myself to the torture required by the United States government called school."

A couple of kids walking past him just sort of stared for a second. One of them muttered "Mood," and just kept on walking.
