Saiges POV

I entered the house and froze at the sight of Simon sitting in a chair, watching me with a stern look.

"Hey!" I said nervously. "Hows life?"

"I should be asking you, considering youre never home." He answers with a expecting look. I sigh and let my shoulders slouch slightly. I was overwhelmed with information, and I knew- from common sense- not to tell a single soul. I just wanted to sleep. I wanted to think things over, what to do with myself.

"I was out with Louis," I say half honestly. He nods slowly. "So I was safe. He protected me. I promise."

"Im sure he did," He mumbled, as if it meant something more than what it was intended for. "Whatd you do?"

"Hang out?" I said with an arched eyebrow and he nodded slowly. I walked upstairs, noticing I only knew my way to my room and the bathroom. Sure, the kitchen and living area, but that was irrelevant right now. I wanted to know my way around this whole house- Top to bottom, left to right.

Later That Night

I heard the snores from down the hall, and smirked up at the ceiling. He was asleep, and now I could snoop.

I stood to my feet, the cold making contact with the warm toes and I cringed softly. Sighing, I push my hair back and walk out my room silently. I blindly walked, darkness surrounding me from every direction.

I opened one door, switching on a dim light to find his work space. I quietly shut the door and walked to desk, searching the area and finding nothing of value.

I didnt even know what I was looking for. I just felt the need to search.

"What are you doing?" I jump and turn around to find Louis watching me. "Its not nice to snoop, Princess."

"Im not snooping, Im searching," I defend and he walks closer as I turn away to continue. "I dont know what for, but Im looking."

"Thats either your angelic side being suspicious of Simon," He said and helped. "Or your dark side looking for something Simon has to make it more powerful."

"Either way," I stop and sigh. "Simon isnt good news and he's hiding something from me."

"Lets not jump to conclusions here." I open a drawer and gently shuffle the papers and hiss.

"What is that?" I grumble. I hear something stretch and look to find Lou putting on gloves. He gently reaches in and takes ahold of it, and I see that fimaliar color- Only its in a liquid form.

"Devils mold." He sighs and places it on the desk. Thats when it hits me.

"Was he giving me that?" I ask. "Like, putting in my food or drinks?"

"I wouldnt know, why?"

"I..." I sigh and shake my head. "When I sleep, I have nightmares of that mold, that exact mold, trapping me in a corner. It gets closer every time, but I wake before anything happens."

"Then maybe," He whispers and shakes his head. "Is he your dads brother?" I nod and he tenses.

"Which means he isnt nice," Louis nods at my statement and I hear the door open. I look to find Simon well dressed and watching us. "Hey."

"Whatre you doing here, Louis?" He asks. "In my office?"

"Looking." He holds up the liquid and Simon chuckles, brushing it off. "Mind telling me what this is?"

"Dirty water." He simply lied and look at me.

"I know youre lying," I say and shake my head. "Cmon. You couldve came up woth something better."

"Oh?" He laughs. "Then, I suppose this is a great time." He closes the door and I hear a subtle lock. Few minutes later, me and Louis are sprayed.

All four walls spray out out a gas and I gasp loudly and Louis spreads his wings and covers us with it.

"DONT BREATHE!" I have to breathe. Id die if I dont. So, I dont listen and, within minutes, Ive passed out.

A/N: That escalated fairly quickly. Im sorry for that. But I want to move this story right along.
