Louis POV

She fainted. She passed out.

Gosh.

I pick her up and look around.

There was always something odd about Simon, but I never really saw this coming. I hear a crack in the ceiling and I look up to find green mold growing.

May I add, fairly quickly. I touched the walls and hissed as it singed me.

It was taking over. Her dark side was taking her.

I keep a hard expression as I say a silent prayer.

God, give me strength.

I hold her close, screaming as I charge through the wall. I cough as I see the music studio and I stand up with her still in my arms. I let my wings free and wave my hand as the ceiling splits for an opening.

I dart up and fly towards the hide out.

I look back to see the pure white house being consumed by a dark orb.

Simon was the threat.

And he wasnt hiding it anymore. I stop and turn back. I use two fingers, aiming it at the heavens before doing the same to the house and it rumbles.

"Too weak," I whisper and watch the road crack, the same mold coming from the ground.

It was following us. The darkness was trying to consume her.

I start to fly again and zip towards the woods.

"Please, please," I land onto a tree and quickly rip open the bark, seeing the gold purity leak out. I smile and reach into it- Pulling out the necklace.

It was made of jewel, even the chain. It had rose petals laced within it, blocking her scent from the evil.

I place it on her, letting it fall onto her chest.

"That's your mothers," I whisper to her. I sigh and continue my journey.

I land on the front porch, laying her on the bench as I knock on the door.

"Louis?" That voice sounds as I tuck in my wings and bow. "What are you doing here?"

"Its Simon," I whisper. "He's after miss."

"Oh," She nods and grabs a jar. She walks past me and towards the front yard. She opens it and tosses the ashes in the air.

The particles go everywhere, surrounding the house with a gold aura.

"That'll keep them away," She motions for me to pick Sage up. I do. "Follow me."

She leads me upstairs and locks the door.

"Lay her down," I lay her on the bed. "Gosh, she's grown. Its only been-"

"A few months." I whisper with a nod. She wipes a tear and places a blanket over her. She lights the candles that surround it and I get the scent of vanilla and fruit.

"As long as these stay light, we know the goods still there." She whispers.

"What do we do till then?"

"Find a way to defeat Simon," She pats my shoulder and we sit in the chairs while watching her sleep. "I shouldve known."

I watch Martha.

"Her father was always so sweet, even with the evil he held, to her. Simon," She sighs. "He was so off. He always wanted alone time with her, always wanted to keep her away from me."

"Where's her sister?"

"Someplace where she cant b reach her powers," She whispers. "Somewhere safe."

"You told us she died," I mumble. "Why?"

"I had no doubt that, when they were born, you'd gaurd Sage," She laughs softly. "You always loved Sage, even before she was born. 'Hows Sage doing?', 'Is she ready to come out?'"

I blush softly.

"Saph was never going to be the one to keep the world balanced," She sighed. "Everyone wanted to be with Saph, everyone wanted to hold her, because everyone knew she would be so gulible and weak minded."

There was no denying that. I could even sense that Sage was more of a queen than a princess. Saph seemed the type to follow, to believe everything and chose sides.

Sage wasnt like that.

"I knew, I felt," She sighs. "That Sage would be the one to rule. Saph would just be in her shadow. I had to put her where she is for her own good."

"Do you still her?"

"Only in her dreams," Martha nods. "Only in her dreams..."
