I can not even begin to explain how fast ed, Sarah, Tucker and I jumped into our vehicle. But we did and then we were off. "What do you think they found?" Sarah asked, her whole body bobbing up and down from excitement.

"Honey," Ed said putting the hand that wasn't steering the car on her thigh, "they found the cure of course," a smile shone on his face and for a minute her leg stopped shaking. I peered at them from the back seat with tucker and seriously had to suppress an aww. They really did love each other.

Sarah's leg returned to the shaking, and Ed still sat there with a smile on his face. Tucker stared out the window, deep in thought it looked like, but still, there was happiness that shone through all his features. And me, I don't know how I looked, but I knew how I felt... Scared. Out of my mind, going insane. I was terrified that this was all gonna be some big fluke and the cure wasn't what they found, and the cure didn't actually exist at all, just a crazy thing made up by a crazy guy.

Tucker glanced over at me and his expression changed to concern. "Ellie, love, I know what your thinking, I am to. We can't let those thoughts rule our head though." I nodded in agreement, even though saying that the thoughts weren't gonna rule my head, and actually not letting the thoughts rule my head were to way different things, the latter being the hardest.

I chuckled a little, even though nothing right now was funny, "I really am messed up if I can't even be happy about something like this, just doubtful."

"No," he disagreed, "you're just the kind of person who has to see it to believe it, nothing wrong with that." He lifted my hand up to his lips and kissed it. Then let it drop back into my lap.

Sooner than I thought possible, we were back in wimberly, the big silver gate looming over us as we parked our car in the already full parking lot. We walked up to the gate and the guards that were on duty (two guys I didn't recognize) let us in, obviously a friend of Sarah and eds.

A huge crowd was waiting for us, already shouting about how we needed to get the cure out at soon as possible and everything else around those lines. As soon as I stepped in David walked up to us.

"Tucker and Ellie, please come with me," he said ushering us inside a small building with no windows that I could see. A guy waited for us, wearing a white coat and looking very very professional. Especially since white coats weren't usually needed in this kind of world.

On the table sat an open suit case, filled with very unearthly stacked syringes. "Now I think I can duplicate this cure... If I got the right equipment."

"Yes we'll get someone to get whatever you need, they'll understand.

David and the mysterious lab coat guy stood in the corner talking in whispers. Finally tucker got fed up and did a little cough that seemed to say, "wtf we're apart of this too."

It got their attention because they finally looked up.

"I'm rocky," the lab coat guy introduced himself, "I was just explaining to David how, even though this is a good start, this is not gonna be enough for all the infected, but I think," he paused,"I know I can duplicate it, it's easy stuff.

"That's all great and stuff but we need to see if it actually even works," I interjected.

David and rocky both nodded. "We need someone to bring an infected to me and I can test it out," rocky said.

Well I wanted to test this out really bad, right now. And so at that moment I walked out of the little building and pointed to Ed and sarah, my new sorta friends, "go and get an infected for testing." I said.

They both nodded and were running off before I could add anything else.

Hours later and they were still not back. I paced in the small building with rocky, David and tucker. "They should be back by now," I said mostly to myself. And like god finally answered a prayer, I heard the gates opening.

I ran outside and was met with a gruesome scene. A tired and worn out Ed carried a injured Sarah in his arms. "What happened?!"' I yelled sprinting over to the couple and ushering them inside the building.

"A... Horde.... Shes... Bit," he struggled between each breath.

"Has she turned?" I asked peering at the sleeping figure.

"Any second," he replied.

That's how it worked, you got bit and fell asleep, when you woke up you were a zombie. Simple really.

Her eyes slowly opened, still groggy from the infection taking over her body so rapidly. "Tie her to the table!!!" I shouted, tucker already doing it with rope we had gotten ready for this situation. She didn't fight too bad, still groggy. Most new zombies were for like an hour before they became actual monsters. Only the eyes gave it away that they still weren't real people.

Rocky came up with a vile full of green liquid and shot it into her arm quickly scurrying away after. And then we waited. And waited and waited.

///////

Waiting was hard, this could be really good or really bad. For Ed's sake I hoped it would be really good. But slowly she woke up, not the zombie she was before, but... Normal. And as I saw her open her eyes and Ed rush to her side I cried. For the first time in forever I cried from joy. So happy that this nightmare was going to be over soon, now that we knew the cure worked. Finally me, Tucker and Leo could love a peaceful life.. together.
