Episode 2 (Fireworks) Part 2

פ×Oפ×

The teens ran back towards the elevator, now with an unconscious Reaper on Aqualad's back. They were lucky enough to only meet a few groups of genomorphs on their way there, who were taken care of by Superboy mostly.

Soon however, they were surrounded by another group. Superboy took the initiative and charged fist first into them, while Aqualad and Kid Flash jumped over the gigantic beings, avoiding big teeth and fists. A well placed attack sent Aqualad toppling over, Reaper sliding off his back, onto the cold ground.

The sudden jolt made the boy groan in pain, but nobody noticed, as they were occupied by the noise and chaos the clone was making.

"Superboy! The goal is escape. Not to burry ourselves here." Aqualad shouted over the noise of crumbling walls.

"You want escape?!" and with that he threw a knocked out giant genomorph into two others, freeing the hallway for them.

The sidekicks stood shocked, as suddenly several small round objects flew past them at high speed, efficiently knocking out some smaller genomorphs that they didn't see approaching them. They turned to see Reaper crouching, with one hand now closing a pant pocket.

"Anybody care to explain what the hell is going on?" he shouted.

"No time." was Aqualad's short answer as he rushed to the elevator, ripping it open.

Superboy grabbed Aqualad, while Reaper zipped past them, mumbling angrily, with a smaller grappling-hook, leaving Kid Flash to jump over the ledges while going upwards. The clone leaped and passed several levels, before beginning to fall with a shocked look on his face.

"I-I'm falling..." he mumbled.

Reaper looked up and tracked their fall with his eyes. He could let them fall. He could.

He should.

"Target locked..."

So why couldn't he? 'The enemy of my enemy is my friend.' And he considered whoever locked him up in this wretched place was an enemy. And they did save his ass from that lab it seems... carried him.

He threw a knife into the wall opposite him, just in time for Aqualad to grab onto it, saving them both from falling to their deaths. He would need their help to get out of this place later anyway.

"Superman can fly. Why can't I fly?"

"Don't now, but it looks like you can leap tall buildings in a single bound." Kid observed. "Still cool."

Meanwhile, Reaper looked up again and noticed that something was wrong. They were at sub level 15, meaning that his rope, which he used to get in, should have been dangling there somewhere next to them by now. There were only two explanations to why it wasn't.

One: somebody had cut it down.

Two: the elevator was currently on an upper level, causing the rope to pile up on top of it.
