it's a long story

So, I thought about this one thing but to get it you have to know some stuff,  okay?

So, I have braces. They suck and they hurt and when you eat literally everything gets stuck in them so you try not to eat food that you don't like. Anyways, I have a history of breaking my brackets off.

The brackets are the little metal parts that are glued onto your teeth and they are connected by the wire, and depending on what type of braces you have, they are held onto the wire with little rubber bands. These are not the bands that connect the top and bottom to fix an overbite  or something, these are the bands that are the colors on braces.

Anyways, so I was brushing my teeth just now and I was thinking about when I get them off and I'd get the retainer because I hate braces and I'm tired of breaking them. 

Now the second part of explaining:

I have this older cousin that I always looked up to, (They also have a wattpad account) and she had braces for a while.

Now this next part is really random but important to the story:
Her bedroom is on the second floor of her house and its one of two rooms on that floor. Once you go straight up the stairs her room is straight ahead, and there's a second bedroom to the right. Her room does not have a door, but the second bedroom does.
Her bed is in the middle of the wall on the side opposite to the doorway which is on the right if you are facing it from in the room

Alright back to the story.
So she was telling me this story about how when she wore her retainer at night, she would see this figure in the doorway and when she woke up, the retainer wouldn't be in her mouth anymore.
And I had this thought. Years after she told me this, I had this thought.

What if the figure was there every night but the retainer kept her awake long enough to see it.

-my cat was cuddling me and being adorable the entire time I was typing this and I thought it was worth mentioning I got the cat from the cousin that's in the story-
