Deceit proceeded to wrap Thomas's bloody hand. Thomas didn't really want to talk about what he was feeling in the heat of the moment, he doesn't want to revisit the terror of it. The terror of him.
Deceit finished up wrapping Thomas's hand. He curled his fingers into Thomas's. Thomas looks up at him. "Thank you." Thomas says.
"No problem." Deceit says.
"No, I... thank you for... being here. It feels really good that I have someone with me right now. Well, that I have you with me right now. All of this is just so... heavy. I have no idea what I'm doing."
"...Can I tell you something?" Deceit asks.
"Yeah."
"No one knows what they're doing. I don't know what I'm doing. Everyone is just playing along until they figure things out; and I know you're gonna figure it out because you're awesome, and everyone else sucks. Okay?" Deceit addresses. Thomas smiles at him.
"Yeah. Thanks, Deceit." Thomas says. Deceit closes his eyes and furrows his eyebrows in intensification.
"Lionel." He says. Thomas looks up at him.
"What?"
"That's my conventional name. I was going to tell you before, but I... it's just, I, well-" Thomas puts his hand on Lionel's shoulder, and puts him at ease.
"It's perfect, Lionel. And I wouldn't have wanted you to tell me any other way."
Meanwhile, in Roman's kingdom:
Virgil awoke under the covers with his his arm dangling over the bed. He was confused. The last thing he could remember was everything going blurry as he and Roman were walking.
He sat up in bed. He looked around at the grand, monarchical room. He got up and walked past a full-length mirror. He was wearing black, Victorian nightwear. It looked more regal than he imagined old pajamas would look like. He kind of liked it.
A concerning comprehension popped into his head whilst looking at himself in the mirror; he realized that Roman must have undressed him and put him in this nightwear while he was unconscious. He turned pink at the thought. He found his pants, hoodie, and shirt folded on a chair with his shoes on the floor.
He put them on, but left the hoodie off. It still had blood on it, and it was pretty warm in the castle. He still wondered what made him so afflicted when they were on their way to the kingdom. He still felt a little dizzy with fast, sudden movements, but besides that, he felt fine.
He opened a pair of elegant double-doors; they lead to a small-ish balcony with a beautiful view. Now that Prince is back, the kingdom has returned to its original, stunning state. He walked out, and felt that cool, gentle breeze against his face... He's never felt better in all his life. The faint sound of running water from the fountain was serene.
He leaned up against the marble railing and smiled as he gazed out at the kingdom.
A little Green-headed Tanager flew in and stood on the railing next to Virgil. The colors of the bird were beautiful. Virgil smiled at it. "So... can Roman talk to you, too?" He asks. The bird hopped closer to him. "Wait, did you understand that?" Virgil dazes. The bird chirps a high, squeaky song. Yet, it's still quiet and peaceful. "Do you happen to know where Roman is?"
The bird flies away. Virgil watches it leave, not knowing if it'll get Roman or it was just getting tired of him.
Virgil sees Roman walking out of the castle and towards the grand fountain in front of the steps of the palace. "There he is! Rom-" Suddenly, a pair of hands cover his mouth from behind, which terrified him. He could feel someone breath down his neck.
