I'm flying jack I'm flying!(again if my really bad puns get old just tell me)

Today is the first day that the twins, Lee, and I have care for magical creatures this year! I'm soooooo excited because one of my favorite people is teaching the class. Hagrid has always helped me in my endevers not only to help the harmed or sick creatures I've become nurse too through my years, but also teach me about all of the new (and can I say adorable!!!!) ones that he gets from different traders. He told me that this class is going to be really special and I'm ecstatic I can't wait!

I'm skipping down the trail to hagrids shack with lee and the twins trailing behind me dragging their feet as they trudge down the gravel path.

"Slow down y/n/n!" Lee says but I can't I'm just too curious at what Hagrid has in store for his first lesson!
"Why? I'm excited aren't you?" I say finally stopping and they catch up.
"Of course we are. We love hagrid but you're acting like you're five." Lee says making me pout.
"No I'm not. And anyways hagrid says this lesson was going to be absolutely unbelievable!" I say picking my pace back up and I finally end up behind hagrids shack along with the other students which thankfully was the Hufflepuffs and not the Slytherins again.
'Oh wait that means Cedric's here!' I look around trying to spy the tall lanky boy but even though I'm sort of tall I'm more twords average height and I can't see over the heads of the other students. But just then I feel a hand on my shoulder and expect it to be the twins or lee but I was pleasantly surprised to find Cedric standing right behind me with a goofy grin plastered his face.
"Cedric! Hey!" I say, a big smile on my face as I look up at the tall smiley boy.
"Hey y/n/n! Excited for this lesson?" He asked kind of sarcastically knowing how unbelievably excited I actually was just from my love of animals (I also may or may not have been legit bouncing up and down I was so excited).
"Ummmmm yeah! Why wouldn't I be?" I say back with an equal amount of sass.
"Well then let's go up front!" He says leading me through the croud leaving the twins and lee staring daggers at cedric as he lead me away from our spot in the back and to the front.
"Hey y/n? So do you know how to open the book? I tried at home and i think it digested my shoe!" He says laughing and rubbing the back of his neck.
"Yeah here." I say not realizing just how close I was getting to him and ran my fingers down the back of the spine of the book. "Yeah... You just... Stroke the spine" I say softly as I look back up at him, his face inches from mine. Both of us start laughing lightly trying to ease the new found tension in the air.
To ease the tension more Cedric joked"Well if I knew it was that easy then I wouldnt have let it eat my shoe!" He says making me laugh a genuine laugh. Just as he does Hagrid walks out of the woods coming from his hut with a giant bird, and almost horse like, creature.

"Oh my god Hagrid is that?!?" I say
"A hippogriff, yup miss y/n ur right." He says looking proudly at the bird.
"He's so beautiful!" I say as hagrid comes over to talk to us leaving the hippogriff in the middle of the small clearing.
"His name is buckbeak! Anyone wan' to touch em'?" He asks and everyone steps back but me, I actually step forward.
"Now I gotta worn ya. If you don't follow my lead then he won't be 'appy ok?" He says looking concerned. "A boy insulted 'em earlier and he got hurt not bad but it could've been worse."
"Its ok hagrid." I say a little bit sarcastically. "I'm not going to do anything he doesn't want, trust me." I say and hagrid seems less tense, he tells me to aproach buckbeack and bow and wait for him to bow back he does and I go up to him and start to pet his head.
"Seems like he likes ya!" Hagrid says laughing as buckbeack rubs his head up against my hand. "Wanna ride 'em?"
My eyes go wide but before you know it I'm on the back of the bird and hagrid slapps him on the behind and I go flying. The last thing I saw before we took off was cedric, fred, george, and lee shoving through the hoard of shocked students, rushing over trying to get hagrid to stop. But before they could even reach the front of the crowd I was in the air. We glided through the air me clinging on for dear life to buckbeaks feathers trying not to pull any out. Finally we reached a level where I felt it was safe to let go. It was magical I've never felt anything so amazing, I wish the boys could have experienced this. We glided along the surface of the water, buckbeack with one of his feet skating across the top of the black lake.
We finally landed and the first thing I'm met with once I'm off the back of buckbeack is a very concerned and anxious hug from four extremely frightened boys.
