I woke in his arms. The memories resurfacing from the night before. Of sweet lingering kisses, heated passionate ones, being as close as one could be. Oddly enough though, curiosity has tooken her over. She may have loved this sudden intimate need for the other, but still, her curiosity got the best of her.
Clary knew that something didn't add up. They slept fine, and then he suddenly woke, saying it was a nightmare. Then letting his contents out into the toilet, the shower, his sudden need to be close. Then holding Clary close, all night, like he would fall apart if they weren't connected in some way, like she was his life line. His guardian.
Jace and Clary lay there, only covered in sheets. Jace stroking Clary's undone red curls, and Clary rubbing small circles on his chest with her small hands.
"Jace." She whispered. "I know something happened. I want to know." Jace's stroking suddenly stopped, and they were no longer that happy and loving couple, but what seemed like two lovers who were thousands of miles apart.
"Of course you do, and I guess you should know." Clary then moved closer to Jace, as she lay her head on Jace's chest, and waited for his explanation.
"It was Valentine." That was all he said. Those three words, that made Clary's heart beat out her chest.
"Valentine?" She said as she turned so her eyes met his gold ones. Concern and worry clear in her eyes. As well as anger, and the need to protect her loved ones. To hold Jace close, and never let go. He simply nodded.
The nightmare was about Valentine?! That damned son of a b**** is dead!
Clary felt pure pity for Jace at that exact moment. He may be her biological father, by blood, but in life, isn't even worth the scum on the bottom of her shoes. To do the things he's done. For all he's put everyone through. He killed Jace! He hated me! Jonathon never even got the chance to live because of him! He was stuck screaming inside the body that he couldn't control, and had to be known as Sebastian, and couldn't do anythinig about it! He tried to kill Luke at Renwick's! Kidnapped her mom! Abducted Simon! Suddenly filled with hatred, Clary saw Jace looked down at her.
"I know you musn't be happy with me right now. I'm so sorry Clary." He looked completely broken. The memories from the nightmare clearly resurfacing.
"No. No! Don't say that." She then sat up, clutching the sheets to her chest as they would've fallen. "You're my life! I'm as happy I could be, and even HE, can't take that from me. He's taken too much! He's taken to much from us Jace." Her now tear filled eyes looking into his, only to find his conflicted emotions at the moment pushed down, and not expressed. Liking he was mentally pushing her away. She put one hand to his cheek, only to have him push it back down. "Don't do that Jace. I see it. When you push me away. Don't push me away." She said as she took his hand in hers. Examining his pianist's hand's scars. Scars that she knew were only a question away from knowing the circumstances of the scar. "You need to know, that I would never push you away Jace. I never have, and I never will. Please don't push me away." She paused. "I'm asking you, to break down, punch a wall, scream, do something! Just don't leave me alone." She now clutched his hand as if it were HER life line.
Then Jace let a tear fall.
"Don't shut down. Do something!" And he did. He suddenly leaned forward, connecting his soft, and supple lips with hers in sincronization. Lips to lips, her worry submissively slowed, and faded, but then retaliated. She knew that if this was what he needed, then that was his problem, but something stopped her. This is Jace, her Jace, and there was no way she was gonna let him go.
