Ben didn't have time to process what was happening before the force of gravity had him all but ripped from Danny's grip, and he couldn't even tell where he was as his head collided with the ceiling with a deafening crack, leaving everything black within his previous line of vision, blood pooling in a halo around his head.
Cameron awoke with a sudden spike of terror through his spine. As the movement stopped, he lay perfectly still, unsure of where he was or had landed, but it felt something like the floor. He was disoriented by the light beneath him, flickering before it faded out. He pushed himself up after a moment, barely able to put weight on his ankle while he spun around quickly, trying to get his bearings straight. "Sam?!" He cried loudly, glancing quickly to the shattered window with a sinking in the pit of his stomach.
James didn't know what was happening, all he knew was that his back hit the side of the bunks hard enough to knock the wind out of him, and he caught his breath just in time for the rolling to stop. He was shaking while he breathed quickly, looking around quickly before crawling through the dark instead of trying to stand. "Jake?" He called quickly, panic easily taking over his voice while he searched for Jake through the jet black.
Danny's eyes shot open when he felt the sudden shift in the bus and he tried desperately to hold on to Ben, only to have him ripped away from him. Once the movements had stopped, he jumped up, not worrying about if he had injuries himself. Panic sank in and all he could think about was finding Ben. "Ben?!" He screamed, breathing a bit easier when he heard James and Cameron's voices. "Ben, please answer me" he cried loudly.
Sam's eyes snapped open and he immediately felt pain all over his body. He swallowed hard, afraid to move. Where was Cameron? Was everyone else okay? He lifted his head slightly, realizing he was no longer inside the bus. "Cameron?" He cried, tears streaming down his cheeks when he didn't get an instant reply.
When the bus hit, Jakes body had been slung against the window, the impact causing the window to shatter. He lay unconscious, glass shards sticking out of random parts of his body.James crawled faster when he heard Cameron and Danny yelling, but his heart beat faster when he didn't hear Sam or Ben or Jake. Pausing as his eyes closed and his chest heaved with the beginnings of a panic attack, he sat up on his knees, bringing his hands to his face. The smell of blood overwhelmed him when he did, and he pulled his hands back quickly, feeling around he floor until he felt a body. Groping his hand up, he felt Ben's hair, unmistakably tangled and sticky with blood. Pulling his hand back quickly, he screamed in a panic for Danny, nothing more than his name, but in retrospect, it was the first indication that something was wrong.
Cameron moved faster when he thought he'd heard Sam's voice, though it seemed so far away that he was sure he was hearing things. Looking around quickly, he looked up at the shattered window, scrambling up the couch, using it to keep a tight grip while he grabbed the edge of the window, yelling loudly when glass shards pierced his hands. He pulled himself up, climbing over the edge of the window until he was standing on the side of the bus. Calling again loudly, he spun in quick circles, despite his injured ankle. "Sam?!" He screamed again, dropping to his knees to pull open the compartments on the bus, groping through them until he found the emergency kit, throwing supplies along the side of the bus until he found a flashlight, shining it quickly around the outside. "Sam, yell if you can see me," he called loudly, praying he'd hear a response.
Danny swallowed hard. Something about James' voice made him even more scared than he was before. "James?!" He yelled, trying to follow the sound of the drummers voice. "Keep talking so I can find you!" He yelled, following in the direction of the voice. He knelt down to the floor, hands filling around when his hand touched a body. His sucked his lip into his mouth nervously as he felt the hair. It was Ben. Panic sank in when he smelt the blood. "No, no no" he screamed, scared to move Ben for fear he'd do more harm than good. "Ben, talk to me baby" he pleaded, trying hard to keep his emotions in check. "I need light!" He cried, still trying to wake the guitarist.
Sam looked up, seeing the light shining. "Cameron, I see it!" He yelled, a feeling of relief washing over him to know he was okay. Determined to get to him, he slowly got to his feet, despite the pain as he slowly stumbled toward the light. "Cam!" He yelled once more, letting him know he was getting close.James scrambled around the floor, landing on what felt like a cell phone. Feeling it for any buttons, he finally illuminated the area, suddenly sorry that he did. With his breathing shallow and entire body trembling, he looked over Ben quickly, stomach turning when he saw the amount of blood and the way his body was distorted, neck bent in ways that it shouldn't have been. Shoving the phone quickly into Danny's hand, James moved again, speaking through his gasps for air. "I have to find Jake," he moved faster through the bus, vision clouded with tears, though it didn't matter much in the pitch black. Stumbling quickly over what felt to be a foot, he dropped down again, quickly grabbing at the shoulders onto to be stabbed with something sharp. Jerking his hand back, he felt over it, unsure of whether or not it was his blood or Ben's. Moving his hands slowly over the sides of the body, he felt like he might collapse then and there. Whispering quickly, frantically, he begged quietly. "No, no, please Jake..." He looked up to the shattered window, about to call to Cam for the light just as he disappeared.
Cameron wasted no time in shining the light in the direction of Sam's voice, scrambling to the edge of the bus to jump off it, crying out as he landed on his ankle. Hurrying toward Sam, he collided halfway, dropping the flashlight while his arms instinctually moved around Sam's shoulders, pulling him tight against his chest while his hand lay over the back of his head, gripping his hair tightly. "You scared the shit out of me," he admitted softly, moving one hand up to wipe at the tears that had dampened his cheeks without his knowledge.
Danny shook his head, tears streaming down his cheeks as he took the phone. His eyes fell on the body in front of him and he felt like he was going to lose control. He moved to the side, gently taking Ben's hand in his own as his body shook. "Ben, baby please open your eyes." he pleaded with Ben, hoping his eyes would soon open and he would laugh at him for getting so upset. His eyes finally landed on the blood. "No!" He screamed, as his body violently shook with sobs.
Sam's arms wrapped around Cameron's waist, burying his face in the guitarists chest. "I was so scared I'd lost you" he cried, holding onto him as if his life depended on it. His joy for having found Cameron was short lived, however, when he thought about the others. "Where's everyone else?" He asked, finally looking up at Cameron.
