Ben lay on his back, too heavy to move more than just his head, which turned to face Danny, still unaware of how severe his injuries were, much less Jake's. Nothing seemed to be sinking in, which was largely a side effect of the morphine. Slurring a quiet "I love you," as the drugs took over, lulling him into a deep, dreamless sleep.
Cameron followed Sam out the door, stopping outside to wrap his arms tightly around Sam's shoulders. Pressing his face to the top of his hair, he nodded slightly. "We're all going to be fine," he promised, rubbing his hands slowly over Sam's arms before pulling back to look down at him, trying to offer a comforting smile. "You need to be seen," he reminded him, pulling him to his chest once more before walking him toward the nurses' station slowly.
James dropped his head when nothing changed, moving to pull the chair closer to the bed, James pulled his knees to his chest, moving his hand into Jake's while he settled his head on the edge of the bed, content to stay there until Jake woke up or someone made him move.
Danny's sleep was anything but peaceful. Tossing and turning as he held on to Ben's hand tightly. Reliving the events of earlier again in his dreams. He let out a soft groan, a single tear slipping down his cheek.
Sam nodded his head slightly, letting his hands slide down as he tok Cameron's hand in his own, lacing their fingers together. He looked up at Cameron "after me, it's you. Okay?" He took a breath as he explained the situation to the nurses. One got up from her seat, informing them he'd need x-rays. She led them to the room, pointing in the direction if the waiting room for Cameron. A few minutes later, Sam headed back to the room, his hand resting against his chest. "They said they'll come get us when they have a room available & my x-rays are ready."
Cameron made his way back to the waiting room while they took Sam back, leaning down to settle his head in his hands. This was exactly what he didn't want to happen, was for them to be separated. Sighing softly, he covered his face, rubbing over it slowly. Glancing up when Sam appeared a few minutes later, he nodded slightly, reaching forward to pull him into his lap. Moving his arms tightly around his waist, Cameron pressed his face against the back of Sam's shoulder, closing his eyes slowly. "I hope they hurry."
Sam leaned back against Cameron, taking a deep breath as his eyes slipped closed. He jumped a bit when a nurse came to the door, telling them they had an empty room. He slowly got off Cameron's lap, lacing their fingers together as they followed the nurse. Once in the room, he climbed up on the table, waiting for the doctor to come in, a few minutes later, there was a knock on the door. He came in, shaking both their hands as he sat down on his stool. He slid his glasses off, looking over Sam's chart, "so, I see you were in a wreck Mr. Bettley..." He began, turning his attention to Sam. "It appears you've broken your ribs." He added. Sam shook his head, laying back against the bed as the doctor continued. Thanking him as he left the room.
Cameron moved to stand up when Sam did, following the doctor back to the room. He looked around slowly before helping Sam up and onto the table, taking a seat in the chair across the room. Fidgeting with his fingers while he tried to take his mind off the pain in his side, he tried to take it all in as much as he could. Looking up with raised eyebrows while he mentioned that Sam had broken some ribs, he furrowed his eyebrows as the doctor turned to leave then, assuring them that he'd be back with something to help the pain and to wrap his ribs to stabilize them and prevent further fracture.
Sam sighed softly as he turned his attention to Cameron. He shook his head, offering a small smile at the guitarist. "As soon as I'm done here, I'm going with you & you're getting looked at" he said, stopping when he heard the door again. The nurse came back in, giving him a dose of pain meds and a prescription for more. He took in a sharp breath as she tried carefully to reap his ribs, offering a smile as he signed his discharge papers.
Cameron nodded in agreement, smiling softly at Sam. He reached over, taking his hand to squeeze it gently. "Promise," he assured him, bringing his hand up to kiss it gently. He couldn't help considering how lucky they were to still have each other, alive and awake and without question of survival. Looking up when the nurse handed over his discharge papers, Cameron stood up slightly, wincing as he did so. "I guess it's my turn?"
Sam slid off the bed carefully, immediately grabbing Cameron's hand, lacing their fingers together. He gave a nod as they headed out the door and back to the nurses station. He told the girl the situation and said he needed to be checked out soon. She paged one of the doctors, and said he'd be out soon to take him back. "Mr. Liddell?" A little old man with glasses too big for his face said after what felt like forever. Sam got up, informing the man he was coming no matter what, and followed him to an empty room.

He took Andy's hand as they waited for everyone to get their bags, calling for a cab to take them to the hospital. CC had never been as thankful for Aaron as he was now. Waiting for the cab, he was getting more terrified by the moment. He squeezed Aaron's hand, taking a breath when the cabs pulled up and they all climbed inside. He wasn't sure he was ready for this.
