forgotten - lazarbeam

february 2015. age 20.

10 minutes left of my shift, then i can finally go home. i work a local gaming store which i find really fun as lannan and i grew up playing video games together. although i enjoyed it and had made a few friends while working there, it wasn't what i wanted to do forever. my main dream was to work in media and videography, bearing in mind that's what i studied at college.

finally, my boss came to me and said i could go home. i grabbed my things from the back room and looked at my phone.

i put my phone into my bag and drove towards lannans house, excited to find out lannans surprise.

once i reached his house, i went to the front door and knocked.

"come in!" lannan shouted from a window

i looked up to see lannan hanging his head from a window above, smiling down at me.

i walked through the front door and up to lannans room. as i walked in, i noticed that lannans side room had changed.

he has a smaller room attached to his bedroom with a door separating them. he used to use it for storage and for his clothes. now, it's got s desk in that has a computer and a camera.

"is this what you wanted to show me?" i asked, walking in

"yeah, me and dad have been putting it together all day" he replied

"what's it for" i asked again, feeling the spongey wall covering.

"thats sound proofing. but this whole thing because of this. look" he replied, leading me over to the computer.

"lazarbeam?" i said, confused

"yeah. that's me, i found this website, called youtube. you can upload videos to it. there's my first video that i put up last night, it's already on 47 views and i've got 16 subscribers" he smiled.

i clicked on it and we watched it together.

"it's really good!" i smiled once it finished

"thanks. i've had some good feedback from family too. apart from my dad, he thinks i'm a disappointment" he laughed

"i'm sure he's joking. you've only just started too"

"yeah. i've been looking at other people who have accounts. some people have loads of subscribers and get loads of views" he replied

we looked through loads of other videos and seeing how many subscribers that people had.

"so can you make money from this?" i asked

"i have no idea. if you can, then it would be awesome, but i don't know how. anyway, i love making videos because they're fun." he replied

"i'll make an account and subscribe to you!" i smiled, pulling out my phone

he showed me how to make an account and i subscribed to his channel, taking his sub count up to the grand total of 17.
