I wish I were a cloud.
It just seems so
Existentially effortless.
A mass of... well, nothing.
Vapor,
Floating, billowing
In all directions.
So pure.
They give us
A number of beautiful occurrences.
Snow, rain
That leads to rainbows.
Oh, how I want
That freedom
And utter
Weightlessness.
Until I realize,
The clouds
Must also deal with burdens,
You see?
As they deal
With snow
And happiness,
They still get heavy with rain.
Do clouds feel guilty? I guess not.
I guess in that
They are essentially free.
Free from emotional burdens.
Our burdens
Arise from our
Conscientiousness of them.
Our recognition.
So I guess,
When I look up
And wish to be a cloud,
I'm really wishing I didn't see things so clearly.
