Everyone was uneasy as the teacher pulled down the blinds, closed the door, and turned off the lights. She pulled a white screen down and she explained they were talking about the history of the Avatar, and she had a slideshow.

"You are old enough to know what the Avatar is, or slang for you guys is 'The Wrecker'." She grinned and the first picture came up. It was a man, he was fire nation and he had black hair and a black pointy beard. "This is Wan. The first Avatar. He collected his bending by asking for it from lion turtle islands."

A boy in the front raised his hand. "Those are real?"

The teacher smirked. "Their is only one left and no one knows where it is." She flipped another showing a young fire nation man. "Know we are only going to be talking about certain Avatars because you guys don't need to know everything."

I looked over at Jenna who was rolling her eyes.

"This is Avatar Roku. He died before he could stop the Fire Lord of what used to be the Fire nation, which is now our Fire state."

Jenna was now mocking the teacher by mouthing her when she wasn't looking; I couldn't help but giggle.

The teacher changed the image again to show a young bald man with a blue arrow on his forehead and a brown beard. "This is Avatar Aang. He stopped the One Hundred Year War, and he and the later Fire Lord Zuko and the Earth King Kuei, made Republic City, which you can still see today, which leads to her," she flipped again to show a teenage water tribe girl. "This is Korra, she was our last Avatar that actually had power. The ones after her, the earth, then fire, then air, were all taken care by the government."

Jenna leaned over to me when the teacher wasn't looking. "And we all know what 'Taken care of was'." She had a point, we all knew that they were killed.

Another student raised their hand. "Why did Avatar Aang have that blue arrow on his head?"

The teacher straightened her back. "Well you will be learning about his air culture next week. Now back to business: Korra had the spirit of the Avatar 'Raava' ripped out of her, meaning she couldn't contact her past lives and she was no longer the Avatar, but the spirit was put back so she regained her power, but she still could not reach her past lives."

I squirmed in my seat. Jenna raised her hand. "Excuse me, but is the Avatar still around?"

The teacher looked tense. "Well the government had a test to see if a baby bender was the Avatar, They would place a element of the opposite nation of the baby and they would see if it would move, after this fire one they tested lots of earth babies and none passed the test, so a theory states that Raava gave up."

Jenna nodded knowingly. "And if she didn't...?"

The teacher sighed. "Then the Avatar would probably be about...fourteenish?"

I shook. The Avatar could be in my class! I pushed the thought away.

During lunch, Jenna and I watched Cindy and Ward talking and flirting.

I gagged. "Really, Ward? You gotta have better taste."

Jenna laughed. "Ward's a jerk, remember? No offence."

I coughed a laugh. "None taken."

Jenna and I shook our heads as they held hands walking out.

"Gosh Lola, Cindy could end up being your sister in-law!" Jenna laughed.

I winced and gagged.

I saw in my corner of my eye some boys bothering Spencer a few tables over. I knew he was a jerk but I felt bad for him. I knew I should do something so I secretly bent pebbles in their faces.

Jenna chuckled because she caught me. "Man Lola, you're slowing coming out of your shell aren't ya?"
