I walked to the DX to get a cherry Pepsi, my favorite. I always go to get my soda and see Steve, my best friend; he works there. He low-key hates me. We always annoy each other but we love it.
"Hey Stevie!" I yelled as I walked in.
I went to the back to get my soda.
"Umm where is my cherry Pepsi?" I yelled towards the front.
"We're out." He said.
I walked up.
"How? No one but me drinks it." I said.
"I don't know. Just get regular Pepsi, (y/n)." He said annoyed.
"Fuck that. It's not the same." I said and walked out.
"Drama queen." He yelled as I walked out.
I went home. I could tell today was gonna be a bad day.
When I got there my parents started in on their bull shit again. They're abusive towards each other and me.
My mom was yelling and hitting me and my dad was, too. I'm tired of their shit. They always do this.
"You're a stupid piece of shit." My dad yelled and slapped me.
"I wish I never had you." My mom yelled.
"You don't think I wish that, too?" I yelled.
"Get the fuck out of my sight." My dad yelled and punched me.
"Fine." I said and ran to my room.
I grabbed my bag and packed clothes. I paused for a minute and broke down. Tears running down my face. I regained my strength and then crawled out of my window and left.

(Y/N) and I have been best friends for a while. It's the kind of friendship where we don't see each other all the time, but when we do we make it last. I love her a lot. She's amazing.
"Hey Stevie!" She yelled as she walked in.
Her hair waved back and forth as she ran to the back. She was so beautiful.
She started yelling about her soda not being here. As she walked out I yelled drama queen. After she left I couldn't help but smile. She's so unique.
"You like her, huh?" Soda said standing in the back door way.
"What?" I asked.
"The way you look at her. I see it." He smirked.
"Soda, don't tell her." I begged him, he laughed.
"Just tell her. She might like you." He said and walked away.
Thirty minutes passed by and the door swung open. (Y/n) was standing there with a bag, crying, and all beat up. I ran to her and hugged her.
"What happened?" I practically yelled.
"My parents were hitting me, a-and I left. I'm not going back, Steve. I-I can't." She said. She was hyperventilating. I hugged her tighter and rubbed her back.
"It'll be okay, okay?" I said looking at her and she nodded.
"I'll take care of you." I said and she gave a little laugh.
"I think we both know it'll be that I'll end up taking care of you." She said and I laughed. She gave a little, weak smile and I just looked at her.
"You'll be okay." I said to her.
She just looked at me with tears streaming down her face.
"You can live at my house. My mom'll say yes." I told her.
"Okay." She nodded.
I let her lay down in the back room. When my shift ended I walked back and saw her sleeping. I sat next to her and played with her hair.
"I love you, (y/n)." I whispered.
I then lightly shook her.
"Wake up." I said. She slowly opened her eyes.
"I'm awake." She said and sat up.
"Come on. Let's go home." I said. We walked out and got in my truck.
"Where will I sleep?" She asked as she buckled her seat belt.
"I don't know. My bed?" I said.
"Where will you be?" She asked.
"My bed."
"Oh." She said and smirked.
"Do you wanna?"
"Sure. I don't care really." She said.
When we got home I told my mom what happened.
"Steve I don't want a girl in your bed with you." My mom said.
"I can sleep on the couch." (Y/n) said.
"No, I will." I said.
"Okay." My mom and (y/n) said.
I cleaned my room a bit and got it ready for (y/n). She came in and laid on the bed.
"I'm so tired." She said.
"I'm sorry, about everything." I said and she sat up and looked at me.
"You don't need to be." She said and smiled. I looked down and there was a long pause.
"(Y/n), I have something to tell you. I don't know if you'll react well but...I love you. Like I really love you." She looked at me and kinda blushed.
"You do? Like romantically?" She asked with a slight smile. I nodded. She grabbed my hand and I looked up at her.
"I love you too, Steve." She said with a smile. I was shocked I didn't know what to do. I kinda just sat there. (Y/n) got up and walked over to me. Her hand grabbed my face. She hesitated before kissing me. I grabbed her and hugged her.
"I promise to take care of you and never, ever hurt you." I whispered in her ear.
"I know you will." She chuckled.
"I love you." I said.
"I love you too, Stevie." She said.
