Rana Becomes a 1st Year High Schooler?!

"Mornin'!" Akina shouted as she entered Chanson. Mr. Sato sat at the desk and gave her a friendly smile

"Good morning Akina! You're early today aren't you"

"Oh yeah! I got up earlier than usual because my sister wanted me to tell you that she can't come in for work today after school because she has some planning for a trip to do"

"I see! She has mentioned that she was picked for something... I can't remember what for though" he said scratching his head

Kazuki walked through the door with Rana who was was sluggishly following him

"Come on Rana" Kazuki said as he dragged her into the store

"What's up with her?" Akina said bewildered "she's never like that"

"Beats me"

"Well, I gotta go, I'll catch ya later or whatever" she almost left the door but came to a halt "hey, have any of you guys seen Sakura lately?"

Their heads turned to look at her and paused "Hanami said something about her being off lately but she won't say what" Kazuki piped in

"She'll tell us in her own time what's been bothering her" Mr. Sato said with a slight nod "now go to school Akina"

"Yes sir"

Time seemed to pass much slower that day. Kazuki did his daily piano playing as he waited for customers and Rana just sat with Mr. Sato behind the counter

"I want to go to school Mr. Sato"

"You what?"

"I mean, I'm bored. I want to go to school too. They all look like they're having a good time"

"Would your brother let you?"

"Who is he to say. He ain't my mother"

"No but he is your brother. Your older brother"

"You're Mr. Sato. You're 10 times older than he is"

"I'm not that old am I?" he said as he took a glance at a mirror from the side

"haha no. Maybe. Please!"

"I will get into trouble for this"

"Pfft, you're scared of an 18 year old boy who just sits at the piano all day?? Puh-lease"

"Fine, I will. It's nice to know you actually want an education"

"Oh yeah!" she said as she beat the sky with her fists "I'm more curious than wanting to study"

On an early Monday morning, students piled into the classroom chatting with one another. As soon as the teacher walked in the students hushed.

"Alright high schoolers!" she said as she clapped her hands together "We have a new student today! I want you all to greet them warmly"

Asahi and Akina looked at each other

"Nice, a new student" Asahi said

"Is she cute?" one boy yelled

"No, is he cute?" said a girl

Everyone laughed and began betting on whether it was going to be a girl or a boy.

"Class, now now, let's just welcome them"
