Narrator's POV

Her greatest fear, made worse. She's claustraphobic, can see people getting hurt and all that happens is she loses more air. She's not allowed to panic, she can't get out, she's so scared and she can't do anything. What will Cal think? Alex? Eliza? Mon-el? Winn? James? Cal Grant? Lena? How will the city feel knowing their hero was taken down by some plastic wrap? Who will protect them now?

Kara gets to sit there and watch, hoping someone will get her out . She never got to say goodbye to Barry or Oliver. Would her identity ever be revealed? Would Lena ever know, would she hate her? The flurry of questions in her mind started to die down as her air supply followed. Mon-el was trying to get her out with little success. Alex called for any kind of help she could think of, her cousin. No.

If Kara couldn't get out in time he wouldn't be able to get in. He'd have to watch her die, knowing there was nothing he could do. She may have been able to last a little longer than humans but she didn't have long left. Heat vision was just causing the melting material to drip onto her. It was torture so as her final breaths came she needed them to know she loved them.

Eventually she managed to get Winn to promise her something. She could've asked anyone but he was one of her first friends, a great one too. He swore to say goodbye to Lena for her, and to look after Alex.

Now she let her panic take over, she'd stayed strong for as long as she could. Panic, fear and dread crawled down her throat instead of breathable air. Hearing a crying Alex, she gasped and tried to break out on last time, it was all for naught. Slowly the fear gave way to a blurry and weak present. Darkness was seeping in and continued to until finally she stayed limp. The noises had no effect on her now. Her life stopped, unlike anyone else's.

Alex got the honour of telling their mum, they both still had to go to work too.

Winn kept his promise and lived with the knowledge that it was kind of his fault. It was his father after all.

The DEO and James both tried to protect the city as best they could. It wasn't quite enough but they could get by.

Cat Grant became ever colder, feeling responsible.

Superman started saving people all over the world, Lois gave him as much space as he needed and it was hard on both of them. Cal-el was the last surviving Kryptonian and the new protector of National City when he could be.

Lena never got to say goodbye to her friend, she was just gone. The woman who saved her life so many times was gone too. She knew the truth.

Gone was the radiant smile and attitude of Kara Danvers. Gone were two of the city's heroes. Supergirl wasn't the only one people looked up to. When Miss. Nia Nal came to start her new job she never became Dreamer. She never met her role model, or Brainy for that matter. She just about managed to make enough of a home for herself to keep her job.

It wasn't just the world that needed Supergirl and it didn't just need Supergirl.
