Narrator's POV

Just because Supergirl solar flared doesn't mean she didn't have to go into work. Alex needed her to come in for a check-up and they all needed a run down of what had happened. It was all pretty understandable.

Since Kara had almost died saving her good friend, she figured she'd check on the Luthor herself. It wasn't supposed to be that long of a visit. Supergirl's identity had been revealed to Lena and they needed to talk. Lena on the other hand was at her apartment stressing herself out. She hadn't gone back to the office, she needed to be at her apartment. It was more comfortable there and with all that was going on in her head she needed to be comfortable. She wasn't supposed to be feeling this way.

Seeing as how most of Lena's time was spent in her office, that's where Kara went looking for her. As there was no one there, she headed next to Lena's apartment. She'd only been there once or twice but where else could she go on her search for the girl? Kara had left her phone at home, it was dead anyway so it's not like she could call her. Wandering around the city it was.

The walk from Lena's office to her apartment was quite a painful one, and not made any easier by the rain that had started pouring. The poor woman had had a pretty terrible day thus far. An article she'd been writing had a dead end, someone else had revealed her identity as Supergirl to her best friend, she had no powers and now it was raining too. A true recipe for disaster. Right now could either make it better or worse.

The door was in her sights, hopefully Lena was there. Little did she know that behind it was a very nervous Luthor and when a knock sounded she almost hadn't opened it. Then she saw who it was and flung it open.
"Sorry, I'm a little wet." Kara looked sheepishly down at herself as the owner of the apartment still hadn't said anything. "Lena?" To anyone outside her head Lena just looked like she wasn't paying attention. Inside, however, was a war.
"Yes? Sorry, tired. Let's get you something dry."

She needed a moment. In her room she took a minute or so to just breathe, what was going on in her head? Surely she was supposed to be mad at Kara for lying to her, so why couldn't she be angry?

After her little break she gathered some clothes and a towel, and placed them on the bed before walking back out? "Joggers and a hoodie are alright, right? You can change in my room." Kara could never complain about getting something dry and so she left a trail of wet footprints through the apartment.

Once she was dry enough she walked out with a pile of soggy clothes in her arms. It didn't take long to put them in the wash and for a silence to settle over the two. Where were they even supposed to start this conversation? 'Hey, I've kept this secret from you since we met but just couldn't let you die so revealed it' or, 'You lied to me for years but it's kind of okay because you also saved my life many times and now that I know you're the person I moved to the city to meet I realised I found the right person.' Why was it so difficult? Because they both cared so deeply for each other. There was only one true way they could go about this,
"Drink?" Lena asked.

After a very hesitant agreement two glasses sat on the side with the scotch Alex had always told her sister she liked. Maybe alcohol would taste a little better when it actually got you drunk. The college parties just weren't quite so much fun. That one time she did get drunk was interesting too, and now she was in the best company with the best booze.

Before each of them sat a glass swirled with an almost honey coloured substance. Both of them had a hand around their respective glass but something had them hesitant to drink it. If they have enough to drown out the feelings then that barrier holding their tongues were gone too. Lena's was gone soon after that, things needed to be said just hopefully not too much. As for Kara, she decided she sip on it.
