Kara's POV

I had to talk to Alex, immediately. I could not believe what had just gone down. Kal and I had just tried to interview Miss Luthor, well, I just tagged along. When I'd introduced myself, my brain must have short-circuited or something. Kal hadn't been able to stop laughing at me the entire way back to the DEO, I couldn't believe myself and to make matters worse, Alex and Winn had wanted to know why my cousin was laughing so hard. I had to tell them.
"So I just introduced myself but for some reason, Clark found it hilarious."
"Kara, she was flirting with you." Alex and Winn were not helping here, they were laughing too now. My cheeks were heating up, was she?
"Yeah, right." My cousin seemed to have given up on me by this point, choosing to just continue ridiculing me.

My sister just about managed to control herself to the point where she could actually ask me what happened.
"I just got a little flustered, she's a big deal. When I introduced myself she said I had a pretty name."
"Okay, that's not that bad." Clark just had to pipe up.
"Just wait. Ask her what she said."
"What did you say?" I'm not sure I'd seen Alex looking so cautious before.
"I said, thanks, I got it for my birthday." That set them all off again, except for Superman who just had to entertain them further.
"But then Luthor turned around with a smooth little, 'Well, since I like the sound of that, I wonder if I'd like the sound of your phone number.'" I couldn't believe I hadn't realised until now.

By the time they eventually controlled their giggles Alex had more to say.
"You gave it to her though, right? You love friends." I didn't answer her, I couldn't. Sadly, it seemed as if dramatic timing was on her side as my phone just so happened to ring. I'd pulled it out my pocket, begging for it to be anyone else. It wasn't. The goofy faced selfie she'd taken with me when she'd saved her contact on my phone for me was visible not only on the screen but also to Alex who was peeking over my shoulder. "Oh, come on, you won't change my name from Agent Danvers but she's Badass CEO, rude." A regular temperature only graced my face for moments before my lovely sister pointed that out. I just flew away telling them I needed to take the call before it could get any worse for me. Traces of a traditional child's taunt could still be heard as I arrived back at my apartment but I tried to ignore them in favour of the conversation.

Once we got past the greetings and the correction of ignoring last names, she asked me a question I wasn't completely ready for.
"Dinner at 8?" There wasn't much hesitation on my part. I knew my answer.
"I'd love to."
"It's a date." Maybe she was flirting with me, I certainly didn't mind.

Author's Note:
It's short, it's sweet, it's only 500 words. Enjoy.
Okay, I definitely need to say this. Thank you, all of you for reading this. It means a lot to me just knowing that someone, or surprisingly a lot of someone's, want to read what I've written. Not even my family will read like anything of mine unless I pretty much beg them so getting reads, comments and votes from all of you is just amazing. I must be doing something right, or maybe I just got lucky enough to catch you guys when Supergirl, Supercorp etc is popular. Whatever the reason, thank you. Without people reading any of my stuff I wouldn't have had the confidence to write or enter any competitions. Thank you so so much, it really means a lot to me. I'll try to work on some more updates for you but no promises. Thanks again and enjoy. I just realise I keep ending chapters with enjoy and that makes no sense since you've already read the thing. Oh well.
